  entry door and window replacement

  I had an installer / sales person come to my home twice. We agreed upon a new front entry system and 4 windows to be replaced with 12 months same as cash,. Two weeks later, the company sent another person out to measure -- and then called to tell me that they needed to charge me $4000 MORE for the same job. They tried to explain that they would have to remove the entire wall casing of my 4' bump out to replace my 3 double hung windows.
  Well, I work in renovation lending and have also spent 15 years in home building industry. The windows they are talking about do NOT need anything except replaced. I was told to order a cheaper (ugly) door to get the price down.
  I mentioned that they had a signed contract but the manager was adamant that I "just didn't get it". Must be because I am a girl. Anyway, they would not honor their price and I feared for the quality of the work if I let them come out after arguing.
  I cancelled the job and went with another company (1/2 the price -- same doors)
  lesson learned -- just in time

  replace 3 windows and storm door

  A front storm door was installed. It is a full glass door. I was not told that
  the door would ice up, inside and out, during the winter season. It also does not seal right at the bottom of the door. A dining room window was replaced and after the first year it no longer raises up and down properly.
  The quality of the product and workmanship was not what was expected.
  I would not recommend this company.

  They seemed very nice. Windows seem fine and the work they did installing them seemed great. BUT, then it came time to pay. They repeatedly promised us 12 months same as cash. Our credit was good and they promised us one year same as cash. We inquired about this NUMEROUS times and each time was assured that it would be the same as cash deal. Unfortunately the contract did not reflect this verbal agreement of having one year to pay and we received loan papers in the mail after the job was done - at 17% interest. They even charged us $100 before the first payment was even due as we got our own loan and paid this high interest one off. Now we have to pay a years interest on what we were promised otherwise. All they had to say was that it wasn't in the contract. But what about a man's word? No apology offered. Just sorry you lose, should have made sure it was in the contract. Watch out!!! The lady in the office even knew it was same as cash, which we were promptly told that she has nothing to do about it.
