Maison Eureka - Jian Lou Construction

Working with Ryan, John and the entire team at Maison Eureka - JL Construction has been nothing but seamless. They are professional, respond quickly and are excellent communicators. Remodelling can be unpredictable but their team impressed me with their eye for detail and organizational skills. It's been a pleasure working with them so far and I look forward to more projects in the future.

Working with Jian Lou Construction - Maison Eureka Projects was a very good experience from start to finish. They are patient, they listen and they provide the best crew for each task. Annabelle was very good at interfacing with the crew and dealing with all the HOA related logistics. I had the pleasure to work with Liren the foreman and Jackie and Mr Wu who were able to work with 1/4" large format porcelain slabs in small spaces. Not easy to do... The result of quality finishes for all trim, the backsplash and the shim spaces between each large format tile looked amazing. Lastly they were able to execute the remodel in a building not easy to work with 855 Folsom St which is a Type I building concrete slab with post tension , metal only and 2 hours fire rating demising walls. They executed everything exactly as drawn in the blueprint but were also accommodating with special requests to make things better. Plumbing, Electrical, Self leveling and Waterproofing, Flooring, Tiling and grout, Drywall and Painting with ease. As an Internal Designer, I will definitely work with them on other projects any day!

LiRen and his crew did a terrific job repairing the fallen Ceiling plaster in my old SF home. They were efficient and professional. They were thorough and cleaned up after themselves. The ceiling looks terrific now!

These guys are great. Li Ren and John seriously knows their stuff when it comes to construction. I had them handle a major renovation (/ground level unit addition) on my San Francisco investment property, and they didn't just meet, but exceeded expectations on both quality and timing. They're on the ball with communication too, always keeping me in the loop with weekly check-ins and nailing down every detail. I have worked with other contractors before, and what really caught my attention with JLC was how they made the whole process stress-free, including planning & coordinating city inspections in advance, tying the payment schedules to completed work / inspections passed, and clearly defining the scope of work so no nickel-and-diming along the way. No doubt about it, these folks are the real deal. Highly recommend.

Li Ren, John, and the team are the best--highly competent, responsive, and a pleasure to work with! I'm delighted with the way they expertly diagnosed the sources of leaks in our house and implemented repairs, preventing further leaks and addressing water damage both outside and inside. The team did a great job with the finishes, both interior and exterior, paying careful attention to aesthetic aspects. They also noticed and addressed, after approval, additional issues that were not in the original scope of work, which I genuinely appreciate. I highly recommend Jian Lou Construction/Maison Eureka.

Li Ren and Ken were amazing! They helped our investment group finish a quick kitchen floor replacement, bathroom finishes replacement, and interior painting remodel at a historic Victorian condo in Duboce - Lower Haight. We were looking to put the investment on the market during Covid so we needed a good team that could work quickly. It was very hard finding a trusted group during the pandemic but they were referred to us with the highest praise by friends in the industry. They finished the job for us at a very affordable price, especially for the quality of work which was luxury level. Even with unexpected existing conditions in such an old house, like uneven floors, they were able to stay on schedule, within budget and get the job done for us in less than 3 weeks which beat all our expectations.

We had a great experience with this GC. They were thorough, reliable, and prompt in all their work. We had a remodel of an apartment in SF, and it went as smoothly as ever. We always felt that our thoughts were heard, and they kept us well informed of the progress. When our remodel was completed, it was just what we had envisioned. John, Liren and their team worked on our bathroom gut remodel and cosmetic remodel across the whole house. They did great work. They did not have the lowest bid but Liren seemed to understand the nuances of our project and the house architecture much better than other contractors. He effectively saw behind walls to identify where the piping ran and where we would be able to capture additional space to expand our bathroom. From beginning to the end, these guys communicated well, showed up on time, did high-quality work, and were ready to adjust or redo anything that wasn't up to our high standard without creating additional stress. I've hired several GCs and subcontractors on prior remodels and this was the best remodeling experience I've ever had. Great work, fellas!

One anecdote that should help in this easy decision. We had a cost overrun (change orders am I right..) on a foundation issue that was caused by a minor communication error. This created an extra $3,000 from our architect in fees which I was not happy about paying at all. Ended up discussing this with Li Ren (senior partner for Jian Lou) and in less than 2 minutes with no arguements, he accepted full responsibility and deducted it as credit from our total contract bill. I guarantee you as a professional real estate investment fund manager and developer, 99% of other GCs would've fought tooth and nail in paying this out of pocket so do yourself a favor and use the best.
