    I would not recommend Eco-Nomical Contractors to anyone. Tom Michalic is a great sales man and helpful for planning renovations, but horrible at execution and customer service. At the time when I was having my renovations done, I went weeks without contractors showing up and I'd have to call and be the one to get them to show up. Tom was not very on top of it. However eventually the work got done so I just went with it and thought it was behind me. However, a year after the work was done I got a letter from the city saying I never paid for a permit and was therefore fined. It clearly stated in the contract that Tom and I signed that he would obtain all permits. I paid him the cost of the permits. I contacted Tom and he said he would pay it. Again, I thought this issue was behind me. Well this year when I was doing my taxes I never received my Indiana return and when I called, the city said they were withholding because I never paid the fine. When I contacted Tom he blamed it on the city and said he would handle it. Weeks went by and he did nothing. I contacted him numerous times and it was either no answer or saying that he'll look into it. In the end I got stuck with the fine so its money that Tom stole from me. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend him to anyone.

    Tom Michalic is the general contractor that we hired from Eco-Nomical Contractors. He was just given pages of violations for not getting permits for any fo the work that he did on our home and for work done incorrectly. He seems to have changed the name of his business. He took over $23,000 from our bank for work that was not completed, and refused to come correct the work code enforcement called him to correct. He wanted to charge us $27,000 more dollars to fix work he hadn't done correctly. Beware of this business.
