Manny C Construction

Manny C Construction was hired to demo and replace the concrete sidewalk and 2 car driveway at my residence with a stated warranty of one year. To start he took a $1000 deposit and told me he could start the job in two weeks, and it took him almost 2 months from the date he received the deposit to start the job and it is my feeling it would have taken longer if I did not keep on top of it. The work was started and finished in September of 2024. On November 1, 2024 I informed the owner Manuel via text message of an issue of the sidewalk curb cracking and breaking away and texted pictures showing the problem After multiple text messages and promises to stop by and look at the problem it is going on June of 2025 and the issue still was not rectified by Manny C Construction. In January of 2025 I notified Manuel of 2 new issues with the concrete. The driveway cracked in 3 of the four quadrants and all 4 quadrants were delaminating where the top layer of concrete was crumbling on approximately 50 percent of the driveway. The concrete used for the driveway was supplied by a different concrete company than was used for the sidewalk hence the delamination and cracking issues were primarily affecting the driveway however the aforementioned cracked curb an some more minor delamination are also issues affecting the sidewalk. I will also mention that Manny C. Construction did not notify the township after framing out the sidewalk and before pouring the cement for a required inspection by the township. After speaking with the townships building department they sent someone to inspect the job after the fact and I was told that the curb was not formed as a separate segment of the sidewalk as required. The inspector called Manuel while I was present and left him a message describing the issue and suggested that he tear out the concrete and start over following the townships requirements. I was also told that he would cut the garage door apron straight but it was left looking like the border of Texas and Mexico. Very shoddy work. Manny told me he was in contact with the supplier of the concrete for the driveway to arrange for them to inspect the issue and possibly test the concrete. I was also in touch with the supplier and I explained the issue to them. They told me that they would reach out to Manny C Construction and arrange a visit to my home with him and their representative to inspect the job and come up with a plan to rectify the situation. That never happened and the concrete company told me that Manny C. Construction did not reply to their inquiries on the matter so as good faith measure they hired another contractor to replace the driveway portion of the job for free. The sidewalk still has the aforementioned issues and Manny C Construction to date has yet to stand by their stated warranty. What i got was a bunch of excuses and promises to stop by and check out and discuss a solution to the problems which from my experience will never happen. My advice is to avoid this contractor like the plague and with that you will save yourself a lot of headaches.
