    drywall
    $6,000

The worst contractor I have ever dealt with and I have been in the construction industry for 35 years. They are liars with no knowledge of professional construction techniques. Their drywall work was abysmal. Had to fire them. They came back and took materials off the job that had been paid for. Low class and ignorant. Just smart enough to steal some of your money.

People need to use BBB. This is our experience

The quality of work was beyond substandard The first day they showed up and accomplished a lot and it was down hill from there. Payment in full before the job was completed. Husband verbally abusive to spouse. This is the text My partner sent and after he read it he called and said they was not coming back. This is *** partner of ************. There are numerous issues with your work. I am off this week and expect you to be here and correct deficiencies in your work. I expect you to be here on time Kent was generous in paying you in full before the completion of the job. I understand you are using #14 of the contract for the delay. This must be completed this week. Contract had March 24th. Also I will not tolerate him talking to you in such a condescending tone. Absolutely ridiculous and saddened that you tolerate that abuse. Please let me know what day and time you will be here. Sorry but this is ridiculous Several days of being late or canceling as well as not having proper equipment and supplies or only working for a couple hours and leaving. We were both extremely disappointed in the quality and work ethic of this company. Hopefully no one falls for their website and quality of work.
    Desired Outcome
Payment back for inferior and incomplete work. Not sure how he got a contractor license. Just want to warn people about the quality of work and professionalism.

Maraio Construction is a small company and only has one lead person, which would be Kenneth. J****, the licensed contractor, was also on site to help complete the job. During the time of this job, Kenneth developed a very painful cyst and was unable to work. We never asked for full payment before the job was complete, the customer offered it to us, when we asked for partial payment. Since the customer had paid us in full, we did not want to make the customer keep waiting for the job to be completed, so Kenneth tried to return to work before he was fully healed, which made him unable to work full days. At this time we had also offered to repair a frost proof hose bib that was broken, for free to try to make up for the job taking so long. The customer was aware of the broken hose bib which made our job more difficult to complete and we were not given a warning of the broken hose. Our last day on the job, I sent a text message, since the customer was not at home at the time, stating that Kenneth was not feeling well and that we had to get more wood for the trim due to some errors that we had made by trying to work too far ahead of ourselves. I did not hear back from the customer that day and did not receive anything until 2 days later, late in the evening from the customer's partner, which is the text message they have copied. That text message was not received on my phone but on my tablet, so I did not get it right away. When I got the message the day after it was sent, I emailed the customer. In the email I provided the doctors note that Kenneth had received and told the customer that we can issue a partial refund. Once this email was sent, the customer's partner called us, in which Kenneth answered the phone. The customer's made it known on the phone call that they were not happy with us, so again we offered a refund, in which the customer said that was fine. So we had already thought a resolution had been reached to this problem and then almost 2 weeks later this complaint was issued. The customer also complains about the way Kenneth treated J**** on the job, which neither of us are aware of what the customer is speaking about. It is a job site and some times voices may be raised especially if something needs to be rushed such as installing the stone because of the dry time.

Have gotten or heard nothing. People need to be warned. Also I can’t find the WV contractor license they have on the contact.

    Hand rail
    $1,500

Save yourself time, money and disappointment. This husband and wife team are well versed in getting you to put 1/3 down and then showing up for work hours late with incorrect materials. Both showed up like they rolled out of bed (non- showered) and confused. I hired them to install a simple handrail to match what was installed upstairs. They brought Home Depot purchased materials that looked like my grandson stained it. It was also the wrong wood - poplar instead of oak. They brought the handrail buried under junk in the back of their Expedition. The material was dented and chipped and carelessly handled. I wouldn’t have had them install the handrail in a cabin, let alone my house. After I refused to proceed with the installation and requested my deposit back, they replied they would ‘process’ my refund immediately. When I followed up several weeks later they claimed ‘my’ canceling of the job set their company back finacially ($400) and they will pay me when they can. This is a company that advertises they are a ‘home builder’. ha! They are an LLC for a reason! Don’t sign any BS contract (especially the one binding arbitration through MHIC). That process takes two years for a decision and no guarantees. Maraio knows this but uses that statement to lure you in to signing their contract. Don’t send them any money - you will regret it!! The company is a joke run by crooks! If I could rate with no stars I would.

Build carport and screened in porch

Terrible! We had to fire him. He nailed our new metal roof and then moved panels. There were nail holes all over our new roof. He stated that he caulked the holes and it was ok. Beer bottle caps were found all over the lot. He tried to extort money from us by saying that he would not complete the job until we paid him all the money. When we refused, he nailed mis-cut boards to the gable. He is sloppy. Our lot was a mess with garbage from Kenny.
