Marc was a referral. It started off bad from the start. Trying to get a hold of Marc on the phone is difficult and he will return your calls days later. I didn’t go with my gut and went a head and gave him another shot. We set up an appointment to meet at my property. Low and behold Marc did not show up at the scheduled time and when I called him he said he went to the wrong property and showed up several hours later. He walked the property for about 10 minutes and then charged me for a consulting fee. I figured the ball was rolling since he came out to the property but this is where things really spiraled out of control. Marc asked me to set up an appointment with another contractor to survey the ground, he must have been to busy to set it up which is what he was paid for. I set up the ground penetrating radar survey within a couple of days and received the results and emailed him. After a couple of weeks Marc got around to calling me back about the results which identified all the sewage lines and water lines on the property. Marc then said I need to hire a driller for test holes. I’m thinking now what am I hiring Marc for. So I called around and found a driller to come out within a couple of days. Marc then got upset about me finding a driller so soon and told me that if I hire that driller for test holes he won’t work with me and told me to fire them and he would call and set up a time for his driller to come out. Marc then said his driller was on vacation and he did not know when he could get him out for the test and that he was also waiting for it to rain so the ground water would raise. I asked why he wanted the ground water to raise because the county already said we were not in a high water area. Marc then said that he was recommending a drip sewage system and also needed to redesign the old sewage system on the main house and wanted the ground water to rise. If you know sewage system a drip system is the most expensive and also comes with yearly testing and fees as apposed to leech lines or h pipes. I asked Marc to drill for perk test before he recommended any systems. Marc again said he did not know when his driller would be available. Now we are going on 3 weeks of delays since Marc came to the property. After getting another bad feeling about Marc I advised him he was no longer needed for the project and cancelled his contract. Marc then called saying that he could affect my ADU project if I did not hire him. The next day I received an email explaining everything he wanted to do with my project and then sent me a list of contractors to install the sewage system he was recommending which was the drip system and he still did not do a perk test. In the beginning Marc was a referral from a very prominent company that was already installing my sewage system and he knew it from the beginning. Now he was trying to cut out the company that referred him. Marc was already fired from my job but continued to try and get me to us him even after cancelling the check I sent him and telling him he was no longer on my job site. After sending him an email saying he was basically fired he then stopped pressuring me into a very very expensive an unneeded sewage system that he was recommending. I hired another driller and they came out with in a couple days and there were no problems with the ground.
