    Replace Roof
    $12,000

Marc replaced my roof and I had it inspected by another roof expert the report stated the roof was installed with excellent results. I am a realtor and have since referred him to several of my clients with the same results. Marc is incredibly organized and well staffed with qualified installers not just with the guys he picked off the street. My 2,500 sq. ft house was completed in hours instead of days.

    Roof repair and skylight replacement
    $3,800

Did not discuss payment options up front. When I asked if they needed anything up front, they declined. When I asked to pay them something when they showed up on the site, they declined, saying they did not take any cards whatsoever, and said I would need to pay cash. I had to scramble to pull out all the cash I had, which was 1/3 of the full amount for which they later invoiced me. At the end of the day, the owner asked if we had the payment of about $4000 for him then and there, which I did not have in cash on hand. The owner declined to accept the $1200 I attempted to give him. Two days later, I had the invoice for $4000, and the owner blowing up my phone calling me a cheat and a liar for not having $4000 cash on hand. The owner's wife showed up to my house in the middle of my workday, demanding the full payment then and there, and again would not accept the $1200 cash I attempted to give her. The owner began blowing up my phone, demanding I somehow get a payday loan at 7PM on Thanksgiving night. He declined to accept the $1200 cash, declined to take any debit or credit cards, and declined every single form of payment I offered, such as PayPal. He demanded the full amount in cash that day. Telling him I was willing to pull out the cash somehow on the day after Thanksgiving when the banks were open again was not good enough; he just continued berating me, calling me a cheat and a liar because I could not go to a bank at 7PM on Thanksgiving night to pull out cash from a bank where I don't even have an account. The next day, on Thanksgiving, the owner turned down a check, saying he didn't trust me and thought I would just write him a hot check. He again turned down the $1200 cash. He turned down every other method of payment, such as cards and PayPal, even when I offered to eat all of the fees so that he did not miss a cent of the full $4000. When I told him I had the check in hand, he declined to allow me to deliver it to him, and said "I'll buzz you later and we'll catch up later" - after all of this "I NEED THE MONEY TODAY" and making me run around town for two hours trying to pull out cash same-day. All of this happened within hours of receiving the invoice with no terms, and within a day or two of the owner springing on me that he only accepted cash in full, no other forms of payment accepted. If the business had simply been up front and told me a week before the job that they expected full payment in cash same-day, there would have been no issue (I make $10k a month, and I could have set aside $4k. Instead, expecting this business to accept some sort of card, check, Paypal, Venmo, etc. like 100% of the other contractors I have used, I put most of my cash on hand into paying down my cards, expecting W&W to charge $4k on one of my cards, and not expecting them to think I had thousands in cash in my pocket for some reason). Instead of accepting that we had mutually misunderstood some unspoken terms, the owner blew up my phone, and harassed both my wife and mother in law over phone and texts. I apologized profusely, accepted full responsibility repeatedly, and offered to send payment in cash, check, credit card, PayPal, etc., but the owner kept declining my offers to make things right, and has continued to blow up my phone up to this very moment... even though I have told him repeatedly that I have the payment on hand and am willing to meet him whenever and wherever in order to get past this! I have no idea what is wrong with these people, but I can say that I will be all too happy to hand over this payment the very nanosecond that the owner finally accepts my attempts to pay him, as I will finally be able to not deal with these unreasonable people ever again.

W&W Roofing's owner finally accepted a check for the full amount. As soon as I handed off the check to Kathie (I think she is the owner's wife?), the owner blew up my phone with walls of text full of insults and threats. After sending me this stream of invective, calling me mentally defective, inbred, a cheat, a liar, and many other things that I'm sure I cannot repeat in a review, the owner threatened me with violence if I replied or ever contacted him again.

After the fact, I looked up the owner's facebook page and so on, and it seems like this is par for the course for the owner personally, and for W&W Roofing as a business.

Bonus: neither the owner nor his crew wore masks or observed basic precautions even though we are in the midst of the worst wave of COVID-19.

I would give negative stars if possible.
