I solicited a bid from Mr. Kenneth Eskelson who is the proprietor of this business for a 4' section removal of a 2' x 2' defunct chimney below roof grade. The chimney was located on top of a one story building. Original bid was for $1,200 - $1,500. Bid price was too high. Vendor explained to me that I had a double wall chimney and that it would take him several hours to complete the work. We agreed on a price of $700 for the work to be completed. Vendor completed job in 45 minutes. Based on original bid of several hours to complete the job I inquired if I did in fact have a double wall chimney. He told me that I did NOT have a double wall chimney. I told the vendor that his estimate was inaccurate and that the job was not worth $700. The vendors reply was "I am really good at what I do and I should have charged you even more." This vendor has no integrity and should not be trusted. I paid the $700 price but strongly encourage anyone considering this vendor to seek out a reputable mason.
