Master Electrical began over 30 years ago as a technically based, heavy commercial electrical company. Its current owner, Doug Albertson bought the business close to 12 years ago and has kept the original business intact and has expanded our services offered. While we still do heavy commercial work, we now specialize in the sales, maintenance, and installation of generators throughout Richmond and Central Virginia for both residents and business owners.

Our number one goal as a faith-based organization is to stay customer and employee focused, making sure we do right by the people we work with every day. Whether it’s by doing our best work with a Generac or Kohler generator installation or by stopping in to make sure your backup power is functioning properly the day before a storm hits. We want to be there to make sure you never have to be without power when you employ our services.

    Install a home generator

    Master Elec installed our home generator in 2017 and did a wonderful job. The building inspector came after the job was finished and said he had never seen such a professional job, no violations to correct and signed off on the generator. Each year, the maintenance technicians that come to perform annual maintenance on the generator are always helpful and friendly.

    I purchased a Generac whole house generator from Master last summer. This was done after much research for a firm that had good to great references and who was respected in the electrical contractor sphere. I deal daily with electrical supply houses here in Richmond, and also contact them to see who they would recommend for a turn-key job. All said Master.
    After interviewing the owner, my wife and I felt confident that the firm shared our beliefs and would do an excellent job. They delivered above and beyond what we expected in completing our installation, including handling the propane gas tank purchase and hookup. They have contacted us regularly to follow-up on the job and to make sure that everything is going perfect. We are MOST pleased with Master Electrical and will use them again if the need arises.
