  This is an update to may review on March 9, 2016. If you look up Simple Case Search and Type in Matchett Construction you will see that on 11/22/2016 I find received my judgment for $2530.14! I have since the last review I have had another contractor come in and fix doors that were not installed correctly and rework additional plaster work that was not done correctly.

  This is not a contractor I would use again. He does not stand behind his work and products and his word is no good. I had a problem with my siding that was flawed from the manufacturer and was not going to pay him the last $5000 until the problem was resolved. I was told by him he had been in business for 25 years and never let down a customer. I took his word as being good and paid him! After a year-and-a-half and being told many times that the supplier and manufacturer were not responding to his request. My last call to Mr. Matchett was to get copies of the receipts so I could work on the getting the problem resolve myself. I was told he was busy remolding his Kitchen at home and that he would send me the information I needed in the mail. He never sent it! I final called and asked for the store manager at Menards and told him of the problems I was have and that no one would responded to the many request from Mr. Matchett. He told me he would dig into it and get back with me. I received a call from the Menard manager the next day with all the information I needed and he also contacted and email copies of everything to the siding company. Upon talking with the siding company I find out that they had sent Mr. Matchett many request for information with NO.... response back! Menards and the siding company resolved the problem within two weeks for me and I received all new siding at no charge, plus $3000 to have it reinstalled. I find out the reason Mr.Matchett did not want me to have the receipts was because the first siding we took back and exchange for vinyl was $3000 cheaper which he pocketed!!! I also had to pay another plaster $1700 to come in and fix the work his subcontractor did.
