His estimate was comparable to other contractors, but the difference in professionalism, competence, and thoroughness was night and day. Nelson took the time to educate me on every step of my roof repair and made the entire process stress-free. This level of care and transparency is rare and should be the standard for all contractors. My son’s closet ceiling fell in - ugh, what a mess! Nelson to the rescue. After an estimate from the “other guy” who stood in the backyard and sent his drone up, Nelson came over, within a few hours of when I called him, and got up on the roof himself (right after a rain storm!). He showed us pictures of the roof and what he thought was causing the problem: the damage wasn't obvious. So nice to have that small business touch - to talk to the owner, the one who would be doing the work. Best new yet, his estimate was half Mr. Other Guy’s! Needless to say, we booked him. Nelson did a great job, always in touch with kind communication. After he finished, he didn’t bill us right away; instead he waited until a heavy rain and then had me check to make sure the leak in the closet was truly fixed. Nelson’s a sweetheart and a pro. To top it off - he fixed some broken tiles on the front of my house. I didn’t even ask! That’s service.

I have hired Matrix Construction 3 times now, for a roofing project, fix old soffit boards, rehang a gutter and roof leak around vent pipes. I couldn't be happier with the results. My roof ridge vent blew away the night before a big storm and Nelson and his crew came out and fixed same day! They even cleaned my gutters and patched other areas of the roof as well. I saw a great review for Nelson Pena of Matrix Construction on Nextdoor under gutter repair. I texted him and he responded quickly. He came out and gave me an estimate. His schedule was full, but a few days later he came by on his way home from another job. He made the repairs to my gutters for a reasonable price.

He provided photos of all his work so I could see just what he did. As soon as we had a hard rain, I checked out the repair and it was wonderful. He solved my gutter problem.

In 2006 we remodeled our home, without replacing our roof. It was not a good experience by any means. So when we decided last year to get a new roof my wife and I were determined that we would do our due diligence to ensure our searching would lead us to a reliable construction team. We searched local FB pages and websites for several months. Several companies we contacted did not even show up to provide a quote! When we found Matrix Construction, and Nelson Pena, we were immediately pleased with his knowledge and eagerness to take on our project. The pandemic and some other unavoidable situations caused delays until this past April 2021. Nelson and his team were hard-working, knowledgeable, and prompt. Even when a change in the design (we decided to get a ridge vent), caused several weeks delay due to back orders, Nelson stayed in contact with us during the delay, and let us know as soon as he had the product to restart. During the work Nelson found a number of spots where wood had rotted and needed to be replaced. Several spots were from the 2006 remodel, showing that the work done then by another company was subpar. We are thrilled with the finished product, as well as the final bill. We have gotten many compliments from friends and family. We heartedly recommend Nelson, and Matric Construction.

I was very impress by the craftsmanship and the professionalism that Mr. **** provided. Even though he ran into a few compilations with the material orders, he was still able to able to provide a new re-shingled roof with all new flashing. Mr. **** takes pride in his work and has no problems with you being on the job site to monitor the work in progress. Also he will provide photos of before and after the job and how he handles uncommon situations and the solutions in solving the problem in order for the customer to be satisfied with the finished product.

Nelson, the owner, takes great pride in his work. I hired Matrix Construction to reinstall our roof (1100sf home) after we noticed significant water damage resulting from some rain storms. He performed exceptionally well, truly exceeded any expectations I had, and the work was pristine. I am a licensed professional civil engineer and a Project Manager for a Heavy Civil Contractor so I have a lot of experience working in construction - Nelson is someone who I completely trust to do the job properly, and for a fair price. During the construction of the roof replacement, he even came to my house at midnight during a severe rain/wind event after I texted him in a panic thinking our home was going to flood - he secured all of the tarps on the roof and prevented significant damage. He even offered to repair any water damage that may have resulted from this storm even though he did not do anything wrong. It's hard to find contractors like Nelson, and Matrix Construction is the best value for your roofing needs.

The company replaced and repaired roofing. Pricing was more than fair considering the unforeseen damage present to the roof once work started. Completion of work was excellent and cleanup was thorough. Friendly and very considerate staff. Highly recommend and definitely would hire again!

Not good! I waited far too long for Matrix to commence the repair work. The one time I saw Matrix was when he appraised the work to be done. Because of the delay in carrying out the needed repairs, I hired another contractor who came one day to estimate the costs and the next day to make repairs. Very efficient!

I'm new in VA I don't have a lot a trust with people working on my house, after the bad storm we had last year in Norfolk, from the good rating I seen on Nelson page I gave him my trust. I was happy and my roof looked so much better, and he was so nice and easy to work with.

Nelson was referred by a friend. I contracted him for a roof repair. He came and have me a good price so I hired him.
A couple days later he showed up with everything to fix my leaky roof.
He was bery thorough even his clean up was impressive.
