Mr. Henley and I had a contract to remodel my kitchen. I gave him a check for $4500.00 for deposit. The next day I had an unexpected medical emergency. I called Mr. Henley and told him what had happened. He was very understanding and told me he would meet on Saturday and he would return my deposit. When we meet he said that he would have to post date the check for the following Tuesday. And assured me the check would be good. On that Tuesday I went to his bank and tried to cash it. To my surprise they said the check was no good. I commenced calling Mr. Henley and he would not answer the phone or return my call. Finally he did communicate by text saying he would have the money the next day. So the next day I went to the bank and I got the same answer I got the day before. I tried texting him calling him and no response. Later that evening he did text me saying that he would have the money Thursday and for me to text him and we would meet at his bank. Again I tried to contact him on Thursday, no answer at all. I texted him say if I don't have the money by 1200 pm tomorrow I was going to file a complaint with the small claims court. Friday came and no response so I did what I said. Now if I can save anyone else from making this mistake by using this contractor please take heed. RUN the other way.
