  No, I would not recommend using Matt Baker. He talks a good talk but will rip you off and not even finish the work. I wish I had read the review about him before I got involved with him. He does crappy work and doesn't even finish the job. I got a $35000.00 garage for $66445.00 and he has only given me receipts for $27000.00. Every time I ask him for additional receipts his response was "I'll bring them tomorrow, Cindy just hasn't written them up yet" (Cindy is his wife). Tomorrow came and no receipts. I've had the same experience that the other person has had with him saying he'll be there tomorrow but never shows up and doesn't even bother to call and let you know. He has not finished the job so I will have to get someone else to finish his crappy work and pay them when I've already paid Matt (actually overpaid) to do the job. Matt uses flunkies to do the work. First thing I complained about was lots, and I'm talking about probably 50 or so chips in the concrete floor of my garage and also 2 saw blade marks in the floor. His response was "it happens" which is bull because it doesn't happen if you use a reputible contractor. I trusted Matt due to a close friend recommending him, but of course she didn't know the true Matt Baker either. Believe me she does now! I hope that anybody that even thinks of using Matt Baker for anything will rethink their decision. I am writing the BBB and the attorney general regarding Matt Baker. He is a liar and a cheat and that is the facts! He'll talk big and say he'll save you money but thats all a bunch of crap. Just beware of this evil, 2 bit good sounding giant monkey, because that is all he is. He will start out ok until he gets a little money in his pocket and all the while asking you for more money to pay for the concrete, and then the framers, and the plumber, etc. The entire time he may pay them very little but the majority is going into his pocket so he can afford to take a weeks vacation on you and of course you are paying for his Camero also.
  What a shame that sorry, low life people like Matt can exist in this world to rip off decent people that have worked hard all their lives and saved money to be able to better themselves. I am a widower and was trying to get a better place for myself and my elderly parents to live out the rest of our lives and I guess Matt preys on single women, because obiously he is not a man and sure doesn't want to deal with any men that might know what is going on.
  SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T DEAL WITH MATT BAKER - HE WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!

  back screened porch and driveway

  horrible contractor to work with

  on march 1,2015 i hired matt baker to complete a covered screen porch for me and repour a driveway area
  i had him write out a contract detailing the cost of each of the items he was to address and complete
  he took a draw that day on march 1 of $6,000
  on march 11 he took another draw of $5,000
  on march 25 he took abother draw of $3,000
  and on april 15 he took another draw of $1500
  the entire scope of the project was to be a total of $16,600
  he has not completed anything he comitted to and signed off on
  i have been continuously told by him he would be out here the next day and each day no one shows up
  he refuses to tell me where all my money has gone
  i hAve a drive way he tore up completely and has left it like this
  i have a porch i cant even step down from to my back yard and its not useable. no screens, no trim, no painting, the steps are not even done
  no screen door. and the exisiting work that has been done the floorboards are already warping .
  he has left a mess for me and i am a single woman trying to deal with this man
  he has repeatedly cussed at me over the phone and consistently hung the phone up in my face
  i dont want to go this route but i am being faced with small claims court to settle this
  he cashed the last check of $1500 even though he said he would hold it until he started the concrete
  he has followed thru with NOTHING he said he would do
  his workmen that have worked with him for years have even commented on they dont understand why he is doing this
  one of his workers smellled of alcohol on the job site
  i found numerous cans of empty beer cans behind my garage
  i was told it was from a cigar that had alcohol in it!!
  please! im educated and i dont appreciate being lied to!!!
  this is an awful situation for me and not something i counted on having to deal with,
  he can be very curt and abrasive in his mannerism and is very difficult to deal with on any level
