Got the thermostat working and installed. The only problem is that he works with Aireco who charges over 100% mark-up for their thermostats/materials. This may be a common practice in the hvac field but I find it unacceptable that we were charged over $360 for a simple thermostat replacement. I feel like my elderly mother was taken advantage of for this service. Once I found out about the price he charged, I researched the exact model # thermostat he installed and found out it was half the price on amazon and in other stores. This will be a lesson to me to never let the contractor buy this type of product and pass it off as the only thing available.
