    bathroom remodel

    I was referred by someone I knew when I asked about bathroom remodels. Matt came and gave a very reasonable estimate. He had a high priority to gather my $1000 deposit right away and to sign a lengthy agreement to protect himself. I could accept that, it seemed more professional. Then when he was doing the job, different small issues came up, as they do on every job. Each and every time there was any little thing that needed to be done (like install a towel bar, or adjust a pipe) he made a new contract and charged me an extra $75 fee for every "change order" and would demand to be paid immediately. The job ended up costing much more than the estimate. Also, his guys made a big mess and I overheard him tell them to not worry about making my house dirty ("they don't care about you making a mess, don't worry."). Matt made a mistake and ordered the wrong color on part of my bathroom. Instead of owning up to his mistake, he kept repeating that he was doing a "complementary change even though you changed your mind." I couldn't wait till the job was finally done! Lesson learned.

    Didn’t hire

    I unfortunately had water damage inside my home and was referred by a restoration company to Matt Wesley to hire for the reconstruction work so I gave him a call. Matt came inside my home for estimates. He asked if he could take one of my kitchen drawers back to his office to see if they could match or find a match for it so I wouldn’t have to replace all the cabinets. He informed me that he was going on vacation in the coming days and that he would get back in contact with me when he returned. That was the beginning of the end! I never heard back from Matt. I called him everyday, sometimes multiple days, for 3 weeks! Sometimes he’d send my call straight to voicemail to avoid my calls. I know he or someone heard the voicemails I left because sometimes the mail box was full and other times I was able to leave new messages. I can’t say for certain that this is a legitimate contracting company as I have no experience with their services besides him avoiding my calls and not returning any of the 20+ voicemails I left on his cell phone.
