Same experience as others. Signed a contract for work not completed but was paid for. Represents himself as a licensed electrician. He is NOT. Had another electrician come and look at the work he did do and he says it is not to code and will never pass inspection. I currently have no electricity in the south in the middle of summer. I am scrambling to figure out what to do so mold doesn't creep into my very expensive renovated home... Please do not fall prey to this predator. Assume there will be litigation in my future. :( Wish I had seen this before hiring him.

What a terrible experience. After signing a contract with what we thought was a licensed builder (he is not), he completed some work, never made deadlines promised. Ordered materials we paid for and never saw and took off with money for work he didn't do. There was always an excuse for why he wasn't working. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this guy.

Nick and his crew did a PHENOMENAL job on out new addition to my home and other repairs on our
existing home. He has been extremely patient with my indecisiveness and has been more than helpful with recommendations as well. His work ethic is beyond what we expected and he has gone above and beyond for us. We are more than happy with our decision hiring him for all of our needs. We recommend him to all that need services. He is not only a roofer as this profile reads but an extremely talented carpenter with immense talent in that field. There is not a negative thing we can say about Mr. Matthews. He was able to juggle our project needs and another “difficult” homeowner as we would call them, without hesitation. Thank you for your outstanding work!

If I could give negative stars that would be about all that Nick earned and is worth! He assured us that our project was all that he had on his schedule and would be finished in time for us to move into our home after closing. L.I.E.S!!! He took off with the money and hasn't been seen since

It's true that once you've paid Mr. Matthews, you'll never see nor hear from him again. Shortly after he completed some work on my house, I tried several times to get him to come back and fix items, He used materials that were not what was paid for that rotted (because it was the wrong material). Initially, I was impressed by his manner and knowledge and work ethic. However, that opinion quickly soured because he wouldn't make good on his guarantees. Please, do not be fooled; I was.

Terrible experience. Used wrong materials not contracted for, stole materials I paid for off of job site. I was overcharged thousands and now having to replace a multitude of the work. You will receive poor quality work for a high price. He will do anything to get paid and you will never see him again after he has a check. Please be very careful about hiring this person.

Matthews Home Improvement completed my screened in porch in December. I contacted him once in January, once in March and twice in April in an attempt to have him correct two minor problems that had surfaced in January just shortly after the work had been completed. Both doors on the porch would not close due to the timber warping. Mr. Matthews provided a two year written warranty but despite repeated attempts to correct these problems, he has deflected my requests and refused to return to correct the miscues.

His initial work was first rate. His failure to stand by his work per his written warranty has left me frustrated. I provided written notice to Mr. Matthews that I intended to revise my recommendation on Buildzoom.com. Despite stating that he wanted to solve the problem, it has been six months since the initial request and he has yet to come back to make the repairs.

Very professional and awesome job done . Very pleased with finished project and highly recommend Matthews Home Improvements to anyone needing work done..........

Nick came out and gave me an estimate for my sun room roof leaking on Monday 11/28. His crew came out and replaced the shingles in one day on 11/30. Very pleased with the quickness and it looks great. I will definitely keep his company in mind for any future projects. Thank You

Repaired rotted front porch columns. Work was performed in two days as promised. Very professional. A beautiful job. I can't find enough words to describe how pleased I am with Mr. Matthews and his job performance. There was a slight delay at first due to a problem with his truck which was beyond his control. He is very reliable.

The hiring of Nick and his team was no mistake. Our roofing project (although small) needed very detailed attention. Nick and his team worked very hard and in the end, we are Extremely Satisfied with the results. We had another company provide an estimate (not via Buildzoom) and that company quoted a price that was 3 times what Nick's price was. Sure we were ok with spending the money with the other company, but once Nick contacted us we discovered that with his price why not get our back deck replaced and a broken pipe fixed for $50 less than the roofing company estimate. Hiring Nick and his team was definitely the correct decision; they were fantastic.

We decided to hire Matthews Home Improvements and we have no regrets about our decision. Nick and his team were Excellent to work with and WOW does work with passion. We have several projects on the agenda and NO DOUBT they will have an opportunity to do it.
