This company remodeled my house prior to my purchase and it is riddled with mistakes (I.e. shelves falling out of closets, brand new appliances improperly hooked up, poor/cheap woodwork, etc.). I was in a tough spot when I arrived in St. Robert and the spigots supplying my washing machine were faulty. I already had Doug’s contact info upon my arrival so I reached out to him for some help (this was before I noticed all of the deficiencies in the house). I ended up hiring them to fix the issue with the spigots and install a new water heater. With parts and labor, the cost was nearly $1,000. They turned on my water heater before it was full of water and melted the upper heating element. They were unhelpful in troubleshooting the issue for over 24 hours which ultimately led me to contacting the manufacturer and finding a certified contractor to come troubleshoot the issue with my water heater. Within minutes we determined that the upper heating element was completely melted, which can ONLY be caused by powering the unit prior to filling it. I contacted Ryan (Doug’s son) about refunding the labor cost of the water heater, since I now had to pay the certified contractor. He refused and denied responsibility for the improper installation.
I understand humans make mistakes, and I’m not upset that they botched the install. I’m completely dissatisfied with their customer service and inability to fix what turned out to be a technically simple issue. The certified contractor was able to replace my upper heating element in 5 minutes. Maximum Remodeling LLC did not even have the proper tools to determine the amps/volts that the upper heating element was pulling. Had they just admitted their mistakes and assist with the repair, I wouldn’t have felt the need to get on here and urge ANYONE in the St. Robert/Waynesville area to steer clear of this company. At the end of it all, I went around 50 hours in the dead of winter with no hot water and am out over $1,200, but at least I have hot water now!
