We hired Don based on his word to complete our basement within 8 weeks. It turned into 5 months and was one of the worst experiences we’ve been through. He didn’t finish the last part of the project, which was not measured correctly, and now my husband will have to complete. Based on our previous experience with him, he did the same thing last time and gave us his word that he would finish everything to the end. There won't be another chance for him to prove himself with us. The communication was terrible and often misleading. The only time we could depend on Don to check on the basement, was when he needed to get paid. The contract is super confusing on what’s included and what’s not. Items that need to meet code, were left out of his bid, hence an additional charge. He was often very difficult to deal with, blamed his subs when things didn't go well and the invoices he gave us, were incorrect. The subs were really good and they are the ones who receive kudos for the work. He admitted to us that he under bid to win the job. We would not recommend him for a basement remodel.
