  New home build

  The whole experience was terrible, Thomas is a great salesman, don't be fooled once he has your money you are screwed. Be prepared for no communication, lack of accountability, lies and poor craftsmanship. They do not monitor the quality of the sub contractors, nor do they care, they only want your money, and they upcharge, thousands of dollars, at every chance they get. Any change you make is subject to a 20 % upcharge, but they will never tell you that until you are near the end of the build. When you hold payment because the work is not completed or of poor quality McCloskey Homes will threaten to stop all work. I asked Thomas multiple times to walk thru the house with me, he is never willing to meet to look at any issues. This guy is a complete crook. My wife and I had the misfortune of him building our home with McCloskey Homes I am stuck with the bill of correcting all the items that are of poor quality or wrong and the list is extensive. According to Thomas all the issues that are wrong with the home are my fault for moving in. There is no warranty, no damaged they caused will be corrected, they just take your money and move on to the next victim. Save yourself the aggravation and find a more competent contractor. I would never recommend McCloskey Homes to anyone.

  Design & build custom home

  We interviewed multiple builders for a custom home build in the Clermont area in 2019. Thomas impressed us from the start.
  Punctual, knowledgeable, insightful and demonstrated excellent vision for a custom home on a difficult lot.
  He designed and built an outstanding home. Beautiful and completely in tune with our needs.
  He's a quiet guy but he has proven himself to be trustworthy, talented and hardworking person that has his customer at the heart of his business.

  Custom Home Build

  A very unfortunate experience. Nothing but stress, lies, and a complete lack of communication. We requested to meet Thomas on-site time after time during the home build and he never once agreed to meet us. We only were able to primarily speak with his brother and accountant through an email thread where Thomas would occasionally only chime in to defend himself, only to disappear again. No notification of up-charges, we just randomly would get a bill sent to us for tens of thousands above what was on the contract. We would have weeks of emails back and forth about installing a bathtub, where they agreed to do the work and said no problem. Only for them to forget and then just blame the fact that it wasn't in the plans. Thomas has absolutely no accountability for himself or his company. They would request draws and say everything was good to go, only for us to do a walkthrough and find the trades damaged several items, that we then had to fight to get replaced, or fix ourselves. Other times on work not done right or completed they would threaten to cease work completely and pull all trades off the job until he was paid the work. Even though the time frame for payment, that was outlined clear as day in the contract, expressed that we had many days left before payment was due, and that the work had to be satisfactorily completed. I can't count how many unwarranted threats we received from Thomas. I would never recommend Thomas to complete your home build, he was completely and utterly unprofessional.
