By KerlieAugust 12, 2020Provide drawings for home remodeling$2,000
That should be a zero. Kevin McCray came to my house in March 2020 , collected $ 2000.00 for simple drawings for a remodeling project. He cashed the check within 3 days. The work was never completed and delivered. At first he started to make false promises by scheduling appointments that he never kept and he has not been answering his phone calls and his texts for a month. Please stay away from him. He is just going around collecting people’s money and disappear.

I'm very happy about the service and work from the contractor and the architect Mccray, they are very professional, they have all the employs and the insurance for the building. They are also very fast workers.

McCray architect should not be used if you like your friend. NOT RECOMMENDED !!! Unprofessional, unreliable and had a lot of attitude.
Let me share.
â¢. my contractor chose Kevin McCray as the architect
â¢. McCray .... "I very busy, can you wait a couple of weeks"
⢠over a month later still no show
⢠he finally came and made notes and sketches for himself to start the job
(now over a month wasted)
â¢. the plans he supplied were incorrect
the project was to remove the bath tub and his drawings included the tub - he never referred to his notes and instructions for the project
â¢. New correct plans needed to be drawn - another two weeks
⢠Now the job is almost two months overdue because of him
⢠All this took so long that the permits he filed with the DOB had expired and we had to stop work while he took his time refiling.
â¢. Additionally, the project was a handicap bathroom and he specified pipes that would have created a foot high barrier to step in. Not thoughtful about the end result - just not interested. Now the job is done almost two years later and some of the forms he filed with the DOB need to be revised per the new plumber that had to be hired. Kevin McCray just flat refused to do any more on my job. Very snotty about it and a real prima donna.Essentially the guy took the entire fee and didn't finish the job to professional standards. I am filing a complaint with the government agency that reviews architects filing their licenses.Construction can be a very emotional experience, but not a word of this story is exaggerated.
The guy is a loser and a danger to the industry and clients. My brother is a lawyer and no fee for me, so this issue is not over in my mind. I am annoyed by Kevin McCray every time I use the new bathroom. BAD, BAD, BAD. This guy took advantage at every turn. I really am not a bitter person, but this experience was beyond anything I could have imagined.

My elderly father hired Kevin McCray from Mc Cray Architect P.C. on July 2022 to submit plans to the city of Great Neck to legalize an Addition. He told us that this was a fairly simple and straight forward process and that he knows the town hall in Great Neck very well. We paid him what he asked for and then he submitted one set of plans. The city responded asking for additional revisions to the plan (as expected) and provide some documentation which he failed to provide. We called, texted and emailed him dozens of times over the course of a year without a response. He took our money (a few thousand $) and skipped town on us. We are in the process of reporting him and will be taking legal action against him. If you're thinking of hiring Mr. McCray you should not! he's a thief and it's mind boggling how he's still licensed. I've researched him on the net and found out others complaining about him on the same issues as we've experienced. Stay far away!
