    Staining Deck

We paid to have a very large deck pressure washed, sanded, and stained. The work was pushed off then performed on a day that was humid and rained a few hours after the staining was performed. The deck never dried and was sticky for weeks. There are portions that were never painted and sections that ran. The deck wasnt properly prepared prior to be stained, it was on pressure washed and never sanded. The stain didnt even last a session. All the stain is peeling off and looks horrible. Owen guaranteed his work for 10 years and it didnt last one! I talked to Owen in May and sent him all of our photos of the current state of his work. He guaranteed and swore up and down he would fit us in this summer. I've tried to contact him multiple times EVERY month since May and our deck has not been fixed and now it is the end of October! He has been very unresponsive and only answered a few times. After the job was first completed we even had overspray all over our bottom patio which they tried to deny even though all of my daughters toys were visibly covered.

Paint 2 metal roofs and the alum siding on a house

I had posted twice earlier back on September 3rd & September 28th of 2014 of having paint peeling off the roofs of my fathers garage and farmhouse. Well... the paint is peeling off again on both structures and I have left messages on Owen's phone for the last two years (2018 and 2019) ... numerous times and he has not returned my calls or my fathers. The business that sold Owen the paint and primer for my fathers garage and farmhouse, which is the manager, discussed the materials that Owen had bought with my father and had told him that Owen used the incorrect primer and that is why the paint was peeling off and Owen was aware of this issue. There is a 15 year written warranty that is still valid and its back to square one to having McDonald Painting resolve this situation again. Apparently this company is avoiding on holding up on honoring the signed warranty that is still in effect. This needs to be resolved and not ignored like it has been for the last two years.

power washing and painting siding and awnings
    $525
    2 days

Very timely service. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost and the quality of work done. They power washed our siding and aluminum awnings, which were really grungy looking on the underside from oxidation. They repainted the awnings, caulked and painted our siding and down spouts. Even saw some screws missing on one awning and fixed that! Very meticulous with prep and they job was done very well. I am so happy to look out my windows and see beautiful white, bright surfaces. Best thing we could have done for home appearance. Thanks Owen, Jason and team.

Very satisfied with Owen's work he did for my mother and father. They made my house look better than it has in 15 years. Would definitely have him do it again.

After my posting earlier this month (Sept 3, 2014) ....McDonald Painting finally contacted us and made things right with scraping the peeling paint off and re-painting my farmhouse and two car garage roof on Sept. 28, 2014. Owen apologized to my father and everything is acceptable. I am very glad that Owen held up to his work and word of making this right and thank you for doing so.

    Painting

I have had my metal roof painted on my farmhouse and a two car garage and after a year it has been peeling off both roofs. I have had numerous calls into this company and spoke to Owen about two weeks ago and he has told me that he would be out to repaint both of the roofs and has been waiting for better weather conditions. He has not come out to do the re-painting and has not returned any of my calls. This work has a 15 year warranty and we have a contract as well. I feel he is avoiding this issue and I will report him to the BBB if his company doesn't make this right. I am very disappointed.

Owen McDonald painted my Mom's 2 story all aluminum home in 10/2012 - he did an excellent job, he is very professional, his estimate was very reasonable and much less than 3 other estimates I obtained, and the final price was exactly what I was quoted. Everything was masked off correctly, there was no overspray, and he cleaned everything up after he was done to look like no one was ever there. He also gave me a price for an additional 2-car garage I did not expect to have painted, but the estimate was so right that I had him do that job also. He removed all the shutters on the house, painted them separately, and reinstalled - just like new. I would recommend Owen McDonald to anyone's painting/pressurewashing - you will not be disapointed

I feel Owen McDonald is an excellent painter and does outstanding work. He did my mom's 2 story house that has 8" aluminum siding that is 50years old and previously painted about 20 years ago. he is very reasonably priced and nhis work is second to none. he removed all the shutters from the house and paited those separately and reinstalled - he even went out of his way and repaired a main pillar for the fron porch using epoxy filler and didn't charge for this. He was very careful to mask off all the windows and other small items, covered all the shrubs and cleaned up everything afterwards to make the home very appealing (I am a person very particular to detail and cleanliness. He pressure washed everything leaving nothing to be scraped and pressure washed the previously painted block foundation and applied concrete patch before painting - he did more than expected. He quoted price was what I paid with nothing added for the extra work he did - this was all done in 2 days. I would nrecommend him for any job. All this work was done in 10/2012. I can't believe the above poor reviews except I found out it could be from a previous employee fired. You will not regret getting McDonald's Painting to do you work.

so I'm usually super unimpressed with contractors, but Owen and his team are a winning combination! I was referred by one of coworker contacted him to come out and give me a bid to paint my house He was on time of are appointment and gave me a great price he was super flexible in our paint color choices and even got a few sample cans for us to look at before we chose the color! His team was done with prep and painting the full exterior of the house within 2 days! He even went as far as painting my front door for free Overall an fantastic experience with this company. i HIGHLY recommend them for painting.

McDonald painting gave a quote to paint a roof. Halfway through the job he raised the price $400. He is a rip-off artist. He said the job would be guarenteed for 10 yrs. He would not return phone calls. Went to the address on his literature in West Mifflin. No painting company there, just a health spa. Found out he lives and works out of Brownsville, PA somewhere. I called Sherwin Williams and they say he has nothing to do with them and they don't know him at all. He also was to repair and paint my friends roof. It leaks worse than before they did it. 5 thumbs down!

McDonald Painting began to paint the exterior of my home without a written contract between us. I was not home when the painting began. The company promised to use Sherwin Williams paint, but the container says American Finest a division of Glidden. Prep work was poorly done. One coat was applied instead of the promised two coats. McDonald painting has not returned since July 27, 2011 and has not returned phone messaages nor responded to a letter.
