He asked for a deposit to purchase materials and for 1/3 of the labor cost. The materials that he was to provide cost less than $100 (Mortar, lath, nails). We were providing the stone and already did the prep work. He cashed our check, dropped off a broken wheel barrow and some buckets and never returned. He promised every day for two weeks that he would be there first thing in the morning or that he was on his way. When we called he said his truck broke down, his wife's car broke down, he forgot he a had a court date, he had to go to the doctor, he had to borrow his Mother's car, Having the worst day of his life etc... Last night, another gentleman told us he has been chasing Alan down to do a job for over a year after the gentleman gave him money for the job. We will be filing a police report if we don't have our money back by today.

He worried me to death on Memorial Day to get him money so he could start the job on Tuesday. He texted me the minute he finished and wanted the rest of his money. I handed him cash and asked for a receipt. He handed me an invoice and drove off. I texted him saying he gave me an invoice, not a receipt. He said because it says amount due, that means amount paid, and continued arguing with me. Finally he agreed to come by here the next day to write paid in full on the invoice. He never showed up.

Unreliable, unprofessional and unresponsive. Mr. Edwards was hired to repair the porch steps and patio at my home. The work on the steps was done and the patio work started the first day. However, he never returned after that and over a 6 week period indicated he would complete the work on numerous occasions which was never done. No refund was offered despite being requested and he refuses to return calls or text messages to resolve the matter. Save yourself the time and aggravation and deal with a masonry contractor who is reputable and honest.
