MENDEZ MECHANICAL SERVICES LLC LICENSE SHOULD BE REVOKED! The owner, Larry Mendez and his company were referred to us for our full gut renovation by our architect Mowery Marsh Architects.
Below detailed major issues we encountered with Larry’s work and service:
HVAC / ERV was incorrectly installed, we only found this out when we had a 3rd party inspector come to do a full inspection of the unit. When we brought this to Larry’s attention, his response “This is a new system, there was no instruction.” Are you kidding me??!!! We went to the manufacture’s website and there was full instructions available online. A very unprofessional and unethical way of doing business! To add to this specific mistake, when we asked him to come back to correct the mistake Larry wanted to fixed the issue the easy way instead of doing it properly as instructed by the manufacture. We had to get involved with overseeing the reinstallation to ensure that it was done properly.
HUMIDIFIER was installed by Larry and the vent was not installed as per manufacture’s guidelines. We started questioning the rest of his work so we researched online and read through the instructions ourselves. When we brought this issue to Larry, he had every arguments in the world including that it was our wish to have the vent placed in the wrong spot. Larry refused to return and correct the issue. Our general contractor stepped in and had a reputable hvac company reinstall and correct the mistake.
FLOW DUCT FAN SYSTEM was not properly installed. Our general contractor had to reinstall the fan and correct the mistake because at this point we did not want Larry and his team to work on any system in our house.
All of the above mistakes were corrected after many hours of additional labor that should not have been necessary had Larry installed it properly in the first place. We spent over a year renting so we didn’t have to live through construction while renovation was going on but thanks to Larry Mendez we had contractors in and out of our house constantly after we moved in. The stress, anxiety and time we were put through can’t be calculated monetary. Larry’s unethical and unprofessional conduct and work should be told. We do not want any homeowner to have to go through what we went through. If anyone is in the midst of a project with Larry, do yourself a favor either have a 3rd party inspect his work or fire him. Our general contractor stopped working with him as well.
