It has been a pleasure working with Garrison Foundry, and Annie Mennes, our architect. This is our first experience with a major renovation, and Annie has been so wonderful and patient with us. At our first meeting, she asked about scope and budget, and then presented a few different layouts based on what we talked about. At one point, a month before we were set to begin, I requested a complete kitchen redesign and she didn't flinch. She drew up exactly what I had in mind, and also was up front in disclosing what the cost of her redesign would be (i.e. additional hours billed by Garrison Foundry). She set up several appointments with different contractors at different price points and throughout the project, she has been in contact with them and has advocated for us when needed. Also, she knows her stuff: materials, structural stuff, vendors, etc. Annie definitely seems to gravitate toward beautiful, simple, and modern (and higher-end - there have been a couple of times where I pointed out that our lifestyle didn't require the fanciest this or that, but she is always happy to make other suggestions).
