I had the same, awful experience "working" with Cory M. Richards. He insisted on a large deposit, kept putting me off about doing the work. When I figured out who he was (saw the newspaper articles, filings in court, his being barred from Johnson County, etc.), I tried to get my money back. He said he didn't have to give it back to me, and later promised to give me a portion of it back, which he never did. I lost nearly $8K before cutting ties with him. He is barred from working in Johnson County and due to continued poor workmanship, endless excuses, and failure to complete work, is well on his way to being barred from working anywhere. Please spread the word about this *&^%$. See the above review to verify. They have learned the same things I have learned about him and his business.

Metro Home Rehab is the current name of the company run by Cory M. Richards. Cory took a deposit before starting work and never completed the work. He has refused to give me a refund. A search of court records reveals MANY small claims judgements against Cory, as well as a criminal conviction on theft charges. I have spoken to some of his other victims who tell a story similar to mine.
Cory is featured negatively in this KC Star article about bad contractors https://www.kansascity.com/news/business/article226816854.html
From that article, "Johnson County District Attorney Stephen Howe’s office sued Cory M. Richards, his ex-wife Ashton N. Chandler and the business KC Handyman LLC that they operated from their home in Mission. The couple also appears to have done business as AKC Home & Remodeling LLC, according to the county’s lawsuit and a small claims complaint against Richards."

He threatened to put a lien on my house after he gave me a quote and I decided not to go with him for my project (no contract in place, no work done on my house). What a joke of a company!
