I began working with Metropolitan Tradesman Group, LLC (MTG, LLC), in August 2020 on a renovation project at my home in Washington, DC. MTG, LLC is owned and operated by Julio Funes who told me the renovation project would take approximately 4-5 months to complete the full renovation as stated in our contract. Over the years, he has communicated the project delays were due to his crew contracting covid, he contracted covid, he had a car accident, his wife was sick, his sister was ill, he ran out of money, etc. I have already paid additional funding on top of the full amount specified in the contract. Mr. Funes will go weeks without communicating. I am currently without a home as this project was supposed to be done years ago and I could no longer pay the DC mortgage and a rental property. I have spent an additional $51,700 on a rental property during the 22 months worth of delays and the work is still not complete with no end in sight. Please be careful who you work with on home renovations.

Without a doubt this is the best experience my husband and I have EVER had working with a contractor. Julio and his team exceeded every expectation that we had and our basement is absolutely amazing (our friends and family are in awe of the transformation and quality of craftsmanship)! They were kind, professional, hard working, detail oriented, professional and showed up when they said they would. I constantly had questions and new ideas and Julio was overly patient and welcomed every new thought that I had. The project was done earlier then expected and every time we walk into our basement we are so so so grateful for everything Julio and his team did to make it so fantastic! We have already referred them to several people who are also thrilled with their completed projects! I will absolutely be hiring them again and highly recommend them!
