Eh... Lee confirms over the phone he has a trip charge of $2/mile and bills $75/hour. I had a hallway light, ceiling fan, and bathroom light to install. Billing hourly, I was worried the tasks would be dragged out. Lee worked semi-efficiently from task to task, although he did disappear to his truck to grab "parts", which took 15-20 minutes. However, before our service appt he had me buy a few planks of wood so he could straddle a spiral staircase to install the hallway light. He also requested I unbox everything to speed up the process. Sure, happy to make your life easier. After wrapping up after three hours he tries to bill me at $85/hour. Really? After going out of my way you are trying to squeeze an extra $30? I called him on it and he and wanted to split the difference at $80/hour. Sure dude, we can split the difference lol semi-retired older man still trying to swindle. Install was fine with him hobbling around. Just be cautious and document your conversations.
