Absolutely stay away from Micah Renovation and especially Micah Prater. He will take your money and not finish the project. We hired Micah back in Oct 2017 after Harvey to fix our downstairs from flood damage. He told us that he could finish our home before Christmas, but we soon found out that was a lie. Its seems that Micah has every excuse in the book for not meeting his commitment. During his time in our house his workers smoked cigarettes in our house when we told them not to and even hid a half burnt one in our refrigerator. They also drank our alcohol and hid the cans in the garage. When it came to the workmanship it seems like Micah would watch a DIY video and come back to the house and try it. We never had our kitchen finished, since Micah’s cabinet builder was sent to rehab for drugs. Micah messed up our foundation by adding 100 bags of self-leveling cement incorrectly. As a result, the wood flooring he incorrectly installed has low and high spots in it and pieces are coming up. Micah still does not accept blame for the floor and continues say our foundation is shifting even after we had a Structural engineer come to our house twice to verify the foundation was fine. These are only a few of the problems with Micah Prater and there are too many for this review. At this point in time Micah has left the job after we gave him $30,000 for the work, which has not been completed. Micah has disappeared and made no attempt to correct the faulty work or refund the money paid for the work. He advertises that he is a member of Home Advisor however he is not nor, has he ever been. Do not hire him. He will only take your money and not finish the work. I know of 2 other customers that he did this too in the last 4 months.
