Michael Hutchinson was a long time neighbor & when my house was sold, the inspection report required the sistering of two floor joists. His estimate given in June was $650. When he finally got around to doing the job, it was very close to the Sept 1 closing to a point that my agent had to call him numerous times & even called several other contractors none of whom were available, given the short amount of time to closing.
The job took 2 workers under 2 hours with minimal materials.
Both of my adult sons looked at it when it was completed & were amazed at the price, given what was done.
When Michael gave me the bill, I was expecting the price to be less but it was the $650 he had quoted me. I didn't dispute it because I needed his paid invoice for closing & didn't want to jeopardize that. I feel that he took advantage of me because I am a single (widowed) woman & I was frankly disappointed that he would treat a neighbor so shabbily.
