PLEASE READ. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILDER. IT IS NOW TOO LATE FOR US BUT MAYBE NOT FOR YOU, WHOEVER IS READING THIS.
We have a lot of issues with Michael Homes and were able to put it under the one year warranty. We are listing some of it below.
1. MAJOR ISSUE - Dryer vent leaking in the attic. The leak goes through the ceiling of our masterbedroom. Now the woods affected and soaked are showing signs of possible molds.
We’ve been emailing constantly but the warranty coordinator only responds once every 2-3 weeks after we have sent a bunch follow up emails (we’re pretty sure we’re deliberately getting ignored). As for the response, he will only answer one question and will leave the rest hanging. He then visited our home to check the leak for himself and then scheduled a repair twice early this year but nobody showed up. There was also no notice whatsoever that they will not come anymore after we cleared our schedules for that. Not a single apology was offered but instead he gave us a lot of excuses saying he does not have our contact number or he does not have access to his email when he’s not on duty.
2. Our garage have cracks on the floor/concrete.
3. The flooring/laminate in the living room is literally floating for you can feel that it was not properly sticking in the slab.
4. Squeaking of the wooden floor upstairs underneath the carpet.
5. Cracked window.
6. Our side landscape is starting to show erosion.
They will only do the repainting of the cracked wall but as for the major ones, nothing has been fixed
I can go on and on with the list but it is clear now that they dont have the intention of fixing it. They will just say that the issues that they dont want to correct is suddenly not under warranty anymore so you dont have a choice but just to let it go. However looking back before closing of the house, they will promise you everything, making it look like the perfect home for you just to make you sign but afterwards pretty much you are on your own.
PLEASE SPARE YOURSELF THE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR IN OUR CASE THE QUALITY OF THE HOUSE THEY BUILT IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. Just take your hard earned money elsewhere and search for other builders carefully.
Please take note we’re on our SECOND YEAR after we closed. We have submitted everything through warranty and we figured out the leaking issue 5 months after we moved in.
We will now let our legal team handle it and we will have this coordinated to BBB and FTC for this has really caused a lot of stress in our lives and we do not deserve any of that.
