I was scammed by Chris Mihalic. He took my emergency advance money, stole my contents and damaged my property. I have spoken with other homeowner victims in Ocean, Monmouth and Atlantic Counties along with ex employees and vendors he has also scammed. Anyone that has had problems should contact the NICB, The Attorney Generals Office in NJ, NC and IN where Chris has done business under the names of M&S Contracting and A&M Services. BEWARE indeed because Mr. Chris Mihalic is probably starting up another business elsewhere.

Home Owner Beware! Owner of this company is a thief! He has an office in Garner, NC which was reported to News Channel 5 On Your Side WRAL for his crew tearing off the WRONG residence's roof and when homeowner asked for situation to be made right, Chris Mihalic's response was "Call my lawyer".
We are a subcontractor who did work for this company in NJ after Hurricane Sandy hit, we have yet to be paid. We have found out that he is having customers pay owner directly instead of having checks made out to the business and he is pocketing payment and not paying subs or employees.
Subcontractors can put a lien on your property if they have not been paid. PLEASE choose a reputable company!! This guy is a scam artist. He also goes by Mihalic & Sons and A&M Services. Check out RIPOFFREPORT.COM for statement from an ex-employee.
We are having to fight for the money we have rightfully earned while he takes his family on vacations. He thinks he is untouchable for some reason. Please beware!
I'd give him a zero star review if I could...

Chris Mihalic is a crook. He took $15,000 of my money, did about $3,000 worth of work and then went on vacation with my cash in the Dominic Republic. He left me with a house all torn out and full of mold. When I contacted his office, the person taking care of the office told me that the Microban to treat my house was on order from some supplier. This was probably a lie because a Google search found the product in stock at three locations in Raleigh. He told us that he had ordered building material and kitchen cabinets at Home Depot. When we tracked down which store he had submitted a kitchen design to, we found out he had not bought the first nail. My wife worked with the kitchen designer to get the design corrected.. Then we called his office and asked them if they were going to pay for the cabinets from our $15,000 deposit. The response was that he was not authorized to write any checks. He was waiting for the second installment on of our deposit to clear. I told him that if he could not pay for the cabinets, I would stop payment on the other check. I stopped payment and the next thing I got was a call from Chris cursing me and telling me how I ruined his vacation. I felt so sorry for him. I am so glad that due to Martin Luther's birthday, the check for an additonal $22K did not clear. I told Chris I was done with him and he owed me $12,000. His response was to tell me that I owed him $35,000. The guy is a total con man. Prior to this scam, we paid him to put a roof on our house. Later we were contacted by the subcontractor because Chris did not pay him. Chris claimed that he was waiting for us to pay so he could pay the sub. We told the sub that we paid Chris in full before he was done on the roof. Fortunately, we got a release from the sub and we tracked down the materials. They were paid for in cash. We escaped having a lean on our house by the sub but I feel really sorry for him. He had to clean out his savings to pay his workers. After multiple attempts to get paid, he hired a lawyer. Waste of money in my opinion. Mihalic has no assets that can be found. We complained to the BBB and the complaint went unanswered. We went to the police and the investigating officer said that no criminal charges would be brought because Chris told him he intended to finish the work but could not do so because of other problems. We complained to the NC contractors board. Chris told us he was a licensed contractor but, in truth, he is not licensed in NC. They are investigating but I have not heard anything in months. We discussed filing a lawsuit with an attorney. He told us that if we won, we would never collect anything so suing would b throwing good money after bad money. If I could score him a -10. I would but the system requires at least one star. The latest I have heard is that his office in Garner is closed. All his employees have quit because they were not getting paid. I am sure he is out there trying to scam some other victim of a storm or fire. If you have any contact with Chris Mihalic, don't give him a dime. Don't do business with him. He is a good talker but he will steal your money and leave you with a messed up house. Someone should find a way to put him in jail of deal with him in ways known only to the criminal world.
