I love working with MPH because he is up front and honest about everything to do with the process, cost, what to expect, drawings, etc. This level of professionalism and courtesy is difficult to find in the construction business. He takes time out of his busy day to answer our questions and keep us updated on the progress. His team does beautiful work and the quality is more than the big box builders. The home we're building with him will last a lifetime and more!! My husband and I would absolutely build with Mike again!

Went into contract to build a home with Mike Palmer and that's where the lies started. First with the lot I purchased from Mike, he said he paid $45K for the lot, he paid $33K, it was just a "swap" he said. After a process of figuring out which home to build we chose one of Mike's signature models. "I can build it blindfolded "he said, WELL HE DID! After the foundation was poured I went to the home site where I DISCOVERED the foundation pour was wrong. Am I a home builder? NO, just a lay person. I asked the site supervisor why I was discovering the problem. He couldn't explain it. After not hearing from Mike for a day he assured me it would be rectified. Well he tried to fix it but again he made a mistake. The back porch was supposed to be poured, it wasn't. An addition was supposed to be added of 132 sq feet, Mike poured 82, he said the revisions he and I made and what he submitted to my bank were typos! After trying to get past this the framing started, again I FOUND a mistake. We submitted a change for the master bath which was supposedly sent to an architect to design and fit within the builds parameters. Well Mike continually told me the bath tub wouldn't fit, so I trusting Mike told him, "no problem". I relayed this to the Design Center and they and I could not figure out why a standard bath tub would not fit in the allotted space according to the plans. So we went back out to the build and I noticed a bathroom wall was wrong, after measuring the opening I found the width of the bathroom was off by 12 INCHES! I went and measured the Great Room where I found the depth to be off 10 1/2 inches, I went to the downstairs secondary bedroom where I found the depth to be off by 12 INCHES! A representative from the bank was there while I took the measurements and confirmed them against Mike's plans. At this point I told the "new" site manager I needed a meeting with Mike and he assured me it would happen by Monday. This being a Thursday I patiently waited, Mike never contacted me until Monday afternoon and to my surprise he told me "I found a tub for you"???? A tub? I relayed to Mike we had more problems then the tub not fitting, he still would not admit to any errors until I told him the bathroom was off by 12 inches. It was at this point Mike told me no, "it's only off by 4"? I asked him when he found this out, he related he knew it when the foundation was poured but he was "afraid to tell me because my wife and I would have yelled at him". It was at this point our communication ended. I called my bank and found out Mike tried to make another money draw on my account that MORNING without my knowledge which the bank declined. I also found out he had a crew go out to the build that morning also to do rough plumbing where he installed the "WRONG SHOWER" and placed the Kitchen Island plumbing in the wrong location. My wife called the design center and after relaying the new problems to them a light went on in one of their heads "now I know why all my calculations are off" she told my wife. The design center sent out a cabinet guy to the build and all of his measurements were off, from the kitchen to the bathrooms, the poor woman at the design center thought she was making mistakes because Mike never divulged his ERRORS to anyone. The last vision I have of Mike was him running away from my wife like the coward he is when she was asking him questions about ALL of HIS mistakes. So there you have it, there is actually more but these are the HIGHLIGHTS! DO NOT go into contract with MIKE PALMER HOMES, if you do bring your measuring tape and patience. Be advised all the mistakes will be YOUR FAULT and not Mike's. He has no ethics and no professional dignity.

Do your research if you are considering buying a custom built home from Mike Palmer. We have had issues with various components of the home such as the flooring, doors not fitting properly, drainage not completed and lack of communication. We purchased our home from him 3 years ago however it was already in process so we did not get to choose any of the design aspects. The flooring he put in was the least expensive he could find as well as the windows and paint. We have struggled for the past three years with his contractors completing and fixing the problems.
