Poured a patio for builder who built our home, it cracked builder agreed to fix it. We added other work...then he quoted one price. When he came he jacked up the price to cover for the builder....the color does not match at all. He was not on site when work was done. The concrete he removed was thrown everywhere in the yard, AND the cracks are WORSE. There are cracks everywhere. We are NOT happy at all. 8k down the drain! I have picture to prove these claimsDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

By John S.July 24, 2019Large Cement Foundation$17,000Read more
My Steel Building Contractor recommended this guy as someone nearby that they work with often to lay the foundation for a large outbuilding I was having erected on several acres I own in Tucson AZ.
I contacted Mikey to give me a bid for the project and he come out to discuss and take preliminary measurements, etc. I made a request to perhaps have the slab extend a few inches (3-4") beyond the normal buildings footprint on all sides in order to keep the dirt a little further away from the metal.
Mikey stated "No Problem" that he often make changes to accommodate his customers requirements and soon came up with a competitive bid for the overall work of around $17K.
Project was then delayed for a number of months at my request so as to avoid any issues with pouring cement in the hottest months.
Months later, when nearing completion of the metal building completion, it is discovered that because of the added inches and a lack of Mikey or myself having communicated that change with the contractor, they would now be unable to install a lower rain shield flange that was pre-fabricated without the extensions interference in mind. I had already paid for this material and the cost to install it without getting to see it used as designed and my inquires with the Building Mfgr. on it's necessity had them saying to me that "all parts have a designed function and these should be installed".
On the day Mikey and crew arrived to begin framing out for the pour, it became apparent that he and contractor that would install the building had neglected to communicate a change that relocated a man door on the building so they wasted time framing out for the entry pad in the old location before I noticed this and made him aware. He argued that he had plans showing it's location and pulled them from his truck to show me. These were my original drawing showing where the door was supposed to go before the contractor relocated it. Another example of their not communicating changes.
Now I am trying to find a solution to the problems of water penetration.
Mikey will claim no responsibility for any errors and said only that he would do whatever modifications I wanted, as long as he was paid for them and the Contractor is pretty much denying any responsibility also. I hired professionals to do what I had never done before to avoid these obvious errors of communication but still suffered their failures. I am starting a Complaint with AZ Registrar of Contractors to try to hold them accountable and will see where that goes.
Update 3/20: ROC has found that Mikey is not responsible for doing changes that "I" suggested and is not going after the Contractor that referred him for not having checked the building slab dimensions before starting the erection. I will report on this when it is resolved. -

Our experience was excellent. I was re-tiling our patio, to update forty year old, cracked flooring. The tilers found that the reason for the cracking was the concrete base had been poured in sections (possibly a wheelbarrow load at a time) and some sections were rocking, near the seams. They recommended tearing everything out, pouring a good slab, then re-tiling. This was WAY more than I had bargained for, and my "little project" was now a big one. The tilers tore everything out for me, but I suddenly had tilers available and no slab. I called CalPortland in Rio Rico, and Manny sent me to Mike. Mike sent Carlos out to scope out the job the next day, and Mike coordinated a schedule with the cement company, a long distance pumper, Joe Hernandez, (because our patio was not accessible by cement trucks) and Mike's own guys. Carlos came out on Thursday of the same week, and leveled/prepped the site. Monday morning, at 6 AM, everyone showed up, according to Mike's plan. I had a new patio floor by 8 AM Monday (except for the smoothing work - and those guys stayed and did a great job, too). Both Carlos and Mike checked back to make sure everything was great. Mike, and the rest of those involved, just gave me incredible, organized and professional service. They also did a great job cleaning up, afterwards. As I write this, a few weeks later, I'm sitting on my newly tiled patio. I will use Mike and Carlos for future work, for sure.
