By DeniseMay 14, 2020shower diverter,$400
if you have a home warranty company and they recommend Miles Ahead Plumbing. Don't do it! All I needed was the hole bathroom comb kit replace for the hot, cold and shower knob. 1st Miles Ahead Plumbing, lied to my home warranty company and said the contacted me, they didn't. they come and said yes you need shower diverter, this would be cover under my warranty. instead they tell the warranty company I'm missing a piece so they can't determine what wrong and my warranty company don't want to cover it. I live in condo and I believe they really didn't want to do the work. so I am out of a $100 buck because that's was my deductible. smdh

By David N.September 14, 2018replace kitchen faucett and sump pump$250
We negotiated a price to replace my kitchen faucet set and sump pump. Mr. Miles came the same day, exactly on time, was absolutely professional, and completed the work timely, cleanly, and courteously. He determined that the replacement faucet set I had purchased wouldn't work, explained the problem, and waited patiently for me to run to Home Depot and get a different set. Both pieces of equipment seem to work perfectly when he was done. I couldn't have asked for more. David

By DavidAugust 8, 2015Bathroom blockage$1,3002 daysOvercharged for repair, then performed it incorrectlyRead more
We hired Augustus Miles to address a problem with a blocked tub drain. After surveying the problem, Augustus informed us that the work would require two days of work and the help of an assistant, and would cost $1,300.
After two days, Augustus informed us that the work was complete - and asked for more money to cover some unspecified additional supplies that he claimed to have needed and purchased, without even mentioning it during the job. When I declined and wrote a check for $1,300, he and his assistant left our house - at which point we discovered a pile of our towels that they had used to wipe up and left in a pile, and dirty hand prints all over our walls - they had tracked gunk all the way between a bathroom, a hallway, the stairs, and the basement.
The problem with the tub began recurring less than a year later. Eventually (20 months after the initial work), we hired a different plumber, who took one look at the work that Augustus had done, and informed us that it was completely wrong. Augustus had installed a sanitary tee connector incorrectly, in a way that prevented snaking from the bathroom. He had also replaced a section of cast-iron pipe with PVC without addressing an issue with the grade of the pipe, which guaranteed the rapid recurrence that we had experienced.
The second plumber tore out all of Miles's work, and replaced it with a properly graded pipe and connector - for $750, nearly half of the cost of the original work. (He also did not leave us with a house full of dirty towels or hand prints on the walls.)
We are in the process of filing a complaint with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) for discipline and possible revocation of Mr. Miles's plumbing license.

I would give zero stars if possible. First my home warranty company told me miles ahead lost the ticket. Then miles ahead phoned and said they’d call me back I’m a few hours to let me know if they’d make it to my home that day (Tuesday) and if not would be at my home first thing in the am Wednesday. Never showed up Wednesday in the am. Called me around lunch to let me know they were going to be arriving. Then I said o was at an appointment because you stated first thing. Then they told me they’d be at my home first thing Thursday. Never showed and I’ve called twice today with no answer. Then miles ahead LIED to my homeowners insurance and said I wasn’t home and that they tried calling me to no avail. RUN!!!!
