If you are considering using Milton Hebert Construction as your contractor do not. As a first time home buyer, this was a terrible experience. The ONLY reason we chose to use Milton Hebert Construction was because of a 6 month timeline…which did not happen. He had another house go under contract after ours and they closed two months before us which led to a month and a half of no one working at our house. It wasn’t because of covid etc…He has no communication skills, very egotistical. When questions were asked about the house, he acted like we were a bother. He is hardly ever at the property during construction which resulted in more money being spent because sub-contractors did things wrong with no supervision. We had to pay for some of them to be fixed because of him and his agents mistakes. He’s never on time with any orders, unethical, terrible with his math and tries to charge you for things you already paid for. You need to have everything that he says comes with the house and what you do/change in WRITING. Please have your attorneys read the contracts before you sign because he adds things at the bottom that only benefit him no matter the outcome. He also makes up addendums along the way. This isn’t the first time people have had issues with him, which is why he asks for so much down as earnest money that he holds over your head. The subs do a great job, it is just him as the owner/face of the company that is very poor. Also, after he got his funding he trespassed in our house with his keys, took pictures of our things!! Change your locks ASAP! Every professional in this field were astonished by his actions. I strongly recommend to avoid Milton Hebert Construction at all costs.
