Hiring MJ Taylor to manage my major renovation project is one of the best decisions I have ever made and I don't say that lightly. She has been professional, dependable, flexible and friendly during our entire process (we had a very large job so we worked together for many months). I cannot tell you how many other people had longer timelines than mine for smaller projects. If it is within her power to control, she makes it happen. An example of this is: my appliance supplier (who I ordered from BEFORE hiring MJ) forgot to schedule their installation team after we waited 7 months for our appliances, so we were looking at another month of delays and having to push back other vendors ... so MJ immediately found another top quality installer and had my appliances installed the day after delivery. But even things outside her control (the lighting I ordered on my own was WAY backordered) - she agreed to handle the installation of the items no matter when they arrived, even if it was way after everything else on our project was complete. She is easy to pivot if you have change-orders (which happen with every job). She even helped connect me with a top-notch handyman and maid after the job to help me around the house. Also, due to the scope of our job, we had our attorney run background checks and develop agreements for our vendors and MJ was a pleasure to work with during that process.
Perhaps the thing I brag about the most when I mention MJ to my friends, is that it isn't easy to find a GC who can also HELP YOU DESIGN! Meaning, she has an incredible eye for various styles and really helped me (who has opinions but not a keen design eye) pick out colors, finishes, materials, and more that came together beautifully with the look and feel I wanted.
I also don't want to go without mentioning Logan, who is kind of like her "right hand" and handles a lot of the construction, is very smart and very friendly and organized.
Projects she handled for me:
Complete bathroom remodel
Complete kitchen remodel
Fireplace renovation
Flooring
Painting/Drywall
Cabinets
Lighting and Electrical
Tile
HVAC
Appliance install and some appliance selection
Plumbing
Handwork (hanging shelves, etc.)
Trim work (coffered ceiling, removing decorative pillars)
