Repair master bathroom, replace tub with walk in shower, replace a door
    $13,000

After having a car run into our garage which resulted in a problem in the bathroom in our master. We contracted with MJM as the general contractor to fix everything. I cannot say enough about the quality of the work that was done. Every works correctly, and it looks like nothing happened. In addition to the insurance claim part MJM also replaced the tub with a walk in shower and replaced a door in another part of the house.

We could not be happier with the finished result. I want to give a special shout out to Ron Grimm who did much of the work. He is fantastic.

Thank you, MJM. We Would use you again in a heartbeat!

I am 65 years old and I was totally scammed by this company MJM. My basement flooded in April. The mitigation company I hired recommended I contact a guy named Francisco to help me with the reconstruction. Francisco has a company named Pioneer Estimating. He came to my house took pictures and measurements and told me to call MJM Contractors to help me with the reconstruction of my home. I called them and they said they would do the work. In the meantime Francisco submitted his estimate to my insurance company. I signed a contract with MJM via e-mail and sent them $1,700 as a deposit. About a week later MJM sent me an e-mail telling me that they had several projects and were running late on them because of lack of workers and materials and they would understand if I went elsewhere to get the work done faster and they would return my deposit. I agreed and they did return my deposit minus $400.00 they said was for the estimate Francisco did! I did not cash their check and I called them and argued with Julia their office manager because 1. I was never informed ahead of time I was going to be charged $400.00 for an estimate. If I would have been I would not have gone with them. Even the insurance adjuster said he would never have approved that amount for an estimate had they submitted it to him and 2. They let me out of their contract I did not break it.
I stopped the payment and did get my $1,700 back but since then they are threatening to put a lean on my house and have me pay their lawyer fees etc... If I don't pay them the money. I told them I wonder how many other people they have scammed by having Francisco do an estimate, getting a deposit from people, giving them permission to get out of the contract and then keeping money from their deposit for the estimate Francisco did? I filed a complaint with the BBB but MJM did not respond to them so it was closed.

My Sister and I share a home. We experienced a clogged pipe and category 3 (poop water) flood, ruining our floors and walls. While I am hesitant to say this, we do not trust that a service company has our best interests at heart. Hiring someone to do a large ticket service for us has cost us time, money, and heartache in the past. We usually rely on word of mouth from friends. However we had no good leads from friends. We happened upon MJM. Mark, the owner, worked with us every step of the way.  We highly recommend MJM.

    Flood repairs
    $7,000

Wish I had read the reviews before working with them. I agree with Renae’s review. At first they are all nice and then they want to start charging you for even just breathing...they are only after the money...they tore up my house really bad after my house got flooded...charged me more than $100 for estimates and time...I should be charging them for wasting my time...there is no transparency and will not give an honest estimation...they like to go based off insurance so they can get the most out of...they charge for using credit cards and provide poor customer service...they are rude. They are wolves dressed like sheep. Then one of them recommended me to a this one flooring company that provided poor service as well, that was the second flag. They will try to confuse one by sending lots of emails and invoices with no explanation.

    Flood Damage Repairs
    $7,000

We contacted MJM to help out on a project that needed a fast turn around to avoid interruption to our business. They were able to fit us in and even worked over the weekend. They even took on some additional last-minute work we through in. Mark and his team are real professionals that care about their work. This is the second time I used them and will do so again. They are worth it! Do not hesitate in working with MJM.

    basement replacement after flood
    $10,000

MJM was great to work with. His contractor that came to complete the work after our basement flooded did an amazing job. A big shout out to Mike. He did great work, friendly and easy to work with. Mark explained the process and worked with our insurance company to make it an easy process from start to finish. We hope to use MJM in the future and would recommend them to anyone needing quality work.

Water damage from leak in refrigerator line

Water damage from leak in refrigerator line. Wood floor in kitchen, carpet damage, basement ceiling drywall replacement. $12,500

We had significant water damage to our home and I contacted a number of companies asking for estimates on the repairs that were needed. Mark came to our home soon after contacting MJM Contracting and prepared an estimate which seemed very reasonable and fair. Once the moisture was dried out from the water damage Mark’s team began the work on reconstructing our kitchen floor, carpet replacement and drywall ceiling in the basement. I was particularly impressed with the professionalism and workmanship of the subcontractors Mark hired to do all the reconstruction. They were all reliable, informative and skilled individuals. Each day that reconstruction took place everything was left neat and clean at the end of the day. All the workers were professional, respectful and friendly on each of the separate projects. Mark kept in contact with me throughout the project and although there were a few delays he always communicated directly with me and explained the sequence that each projected needed to be completed in. He also handled the insurance company communication and estimates very well. After the project was finished there was a discrepancy between MJM and my insurance adjuster on the final cost of the project and Mark was completely honest and found that he had mistakenly overcharged on the overall project. He quickly recognized the mistake and reimbursed me for the overcharge without question. I believe Mark to be an honest and reliable contractor and would definitely recommend MJM Contracting to anyone needing remodeling or repair to their home.

Tear down an old addition and build a bigger addition
    $75,000

I first met Mark McAninch of MJM Construction when my husband and I were seeking a contractor for a major addition to our house. Introduced by a neighbor, we soon realized that Mark was the contractor for us!! He and his experienced crew tore down an old add on to our house and built us a beautiful two-story addition. While that construction was happening, Mark updated our sewer line, updated our entire electrical panel, made sure power and telephone lines were buried, and oversaw every aspect of this major construction job. His attention to detail and commitment to quality work is exceptional. We were so pleased with your beautiful addition, we hired him to completely gut and rebuild our kitchen.....and the results were WOW!! Do I recommend MJM Construction?? Oh Yes, without a moment of hesitation or reservation! Mark is experienced, knowledgeable, and honest. You won't find anyone better than Mark!

Working with Mark is great. We had some one run into 3 of our garages. He was at a reasonable price. Plus the time line was short. Which was very good for us. We will be using MJM Contracting. Also will refer them to others.

A remodel of two back rooms in house with water damage from a leaking skylight
    $3,500

Zero stars. Avoid this business. Owner is disorganized and unethical, and made substantial mistakes during bid process. He had his employees come to my property and gather information about work and was not physically present to confirm that they were being accurate. I spoke with him numerous times on phone to clarify the contract and details and we seemed to have consensus. After contract was signed and half down for work was paid, he returned to property on the day he promised to start the work and instead reneged on contract, saying that a mistake was made and the needed drywall work from long standing water damage was not accurate. He then increased his bid by a substantial amount.

After asking him numerous times to refund the money that was paid down, and stating in writing that the new bid for the required work was too high, he ignored the texts.

It has been two months since I gave him the money, and signed the contract for him to begin work and he is now falsely claiming that I have been ignoring him and tells me that has turned me into his Attorney for “breech if contract”. He then threatened to block me, after two texts I recently sent to him asking to have him deposit the money I gave for downtown payment.

Basically, he is trying to embark upon a bait and switch with some bullying and intimidation on top to force me to either forfeit the half down payment or be stuck with a bid thousands higher than I originally agreed to pay. Get real.

    Restore basement after water damage

This reference for MJM Contracting Inc., is so long overdue for the simple fact once they completed one project, I asked them to do another!
Being new to CS, I was originally ref’d to MJM Contracting for the restoration work on my finished basement on an insurance claim after water damage/minor flooding last summer. Mark McAninich, owner and his staff, were experts in handling of insurance claims and coordinating all the work. The job was finished on time, within what insurance covered; but, to my astonishment, the drywall, textured and baseboards were of such quality craftsmanship, it was better quality then when I purchased the home 6 mns earlier!
I was so impressed I personally hired MJM to drywall in my furnace room and cut-out and install a door from my garage to the backyard. Again, above excellence work.
My last and most personal project was to upgrade my very outdated master bathroom. While I had some rough ideas; Mark & his team defined that, and my new master bathroom is beyond my expectations!
For any future consumers the three things you need to know is:
MJM Contracting is the most honest, ethical contractor you will be able to find. The quality of craftsmanship is beyond expectation.
Most of all, if the end result does not meet Mark’s personal standards; he makes it right!
MJM Contracting Inc., is the ONLY name a consumer needs to know!!!

    Remodel / Update two bathrooms
    $24,000

MJM contracting recently completed a two bathroom project in my home, remodeling portions of one and updating both. I loved working with this company. There was constant communication about the work. I knew when they were going to be there and when they weren't, and was consulted about every aspect that I wanted to be consulted about.
I took the recommendation of a friend in hiring this company and was not disappointed. I found them to be people of high integrity and they did excellent quality work for a fair price. This company has a gem in Rusty!

Damage to finished downstairs from leaking toilet.
    $1,000

We have Mark and his company work in our home on two occasions over the past several years. Both were restoration repairs related to flooding ( leaking ice maker, toilet seal). The ice maker damage was extensive and required replacement of a wood floor. We had an issue with a subcontractor which required a redo of some of the work. Mark redid the work to our satisfaction with no additional costs to us. When the leaking toilet problem occurred we immediately called Mark since we were impressed by his honesty and commitment to us with the earlier job. He did not let us down.
We hope that we will not have further problems in our home but if we do, or if there is a need for construction we would call Mark immediately.

    Home painting, patio resurface
    $7,500

We have used MJM Contracting for painting of our home interior and garage, as well as resurfacing of our stamped concrete patios. Working with Mark has been an enjoyable experience, both professionally and personally. All work at our home has been done by Charles, who is very conscientious and attentive to details. In addition, the quality of his work is outstanding, and he was here working every day, rather than being inconsistent. Mark has been professional, honest and personable throughout our dealings. Prices are more than fair. We could not have found a more outstanding company for our projects. We would highly recommend MJM to anyone.

I am a long-term client of MJM Contracting and I am happy to be able to write this review and recommend them. MJM Contracting has completed a number of large jobs for us - namely the renovation of 2 kitchens, 3 baths, hardwood flooring, indoor/outdoor painting, carpet laying and most recently, they shored-up a foundation that had deteriorated due to on-going water damage. It was a city permitted job and MJM did excellent work & finished the work in a timely manner. I always turn to MJM any time I need to have work done on our homes in the Pueblo area!

  • April 17, 2019

I would definitely recommend MJM Contracting. Mark is great to work with. He explains all your questions to the fullest. He is patient and courteous while keeping the customer informed of the progress of the job. He treats you like he would like to be treated. I also believe his costs are right for the work he does. He is also guide knowledgeable in the construction field. You can’t go wrong with MJM Construction.

    Main floor remodel
    $2,500

Dishwasher leak led to full replacement of main level floor with hardwood, Replaced cabinets. Painted ceilings & walls. Top notch work all around. Polite, professional, neat, flexible & punctual. We priced out several stores for cabinets, and opted to go with J&K through MJM for much better features, much better construction, and much better price. Estimate for work was thorough, with no surprises, and
No advance payments allowed, even for materials. The cost actually came down with some MJM suggestions, and no penalties as the project evolved (good folks, good work, and good pricing; it just made sense to expand the scope a bit). Two years out, everything still looks great, works great, and feels great—no “buyers remorse,” or “woulda-coulda-shoulda.” We’ll be calling MJM again when we figure out the next project.

I work with Flood Damage Restoration. FDR has worked with MJM Contracting consistently for five or six years now. MJM has personally impressed me with some of his team's work. Sometimes we need assistance with different trademen during our work service (electrical, cabinetry, roofing, structural, ect.) and the resulting work is always an extra mile ahead of our expectations. Very competent. I hope that you consider MJM Construction for a future project.

    Water damage, remodel bathroom, flooring

    Water damage bathroom remodel
    $12,000.00
To start out I would highly recommend Mark and his workers. Our bathroom had water damage due to a toilet failing. When I made contact with Mark he came out the next day to look at the damage. With in a few days here had the estimate worked up for our insurance company. Here was very patient and diligent in working with our insurance adjuster to make sure the full amount was paid. This honestly took about 3 weeks to accomplish but he patiently waited before I signed the contract. Once this was settled we decided to remodel the full master bath, plus all the flooring in the laundry room and hall wall that was destroyed. We also decided to add vapor barrier to our crawl space before the sub contactors started demo. The work that was performed was on par. I can honestly say there were a few hiccups but Mark and Shawnee made sure it was corrected ASAP. I would not hesitate to use MJM again. I felt like the pricing was reasonable and the work was above expectations. This was quite a huge stress for me due to I had never had to use a contractor and had know idea what to expect. The difference is that Mark and his sub contactors took the time to answer every question I had. I honestly can't wait to have them come back and update our other bathroom. Thank you again for being so patient with us.

    kitchen/bathroom remodel, carriage house renovation

MJM remodeled our kitchen and bath and we were immensely pleased, not only with the end results, but with the whole process. We were somewhat nervous about this undertaking in the beginning because we were new to the area, but we found that Mark and MJM went above and beyond the scope of work. We contacted them again when we were ready to repair rear yard wood fencing and install some new fencing on our second project. We really value their commitment to customer service and found them to be very reliable, knowledgeable and appropriately licensed and insured. Their prices are also very fair. Everyone we dealt with proved to be very skilled and professional and always left everything neat and clean. The quality of their workmanship is superb and we could not be more pleased. They answered our many questions and concerns without seeming annoyed, made small changes without irritation, and took lots of time to talk with us. MJM is well connected with subs and suppliers and was always very responsive to our needs. They were always on time and if they could not come when expected, they would call and let us know. MJM was very professional from start to finish on both projects.

We are so thankful that we contracted with MJM for our projects and we would highly recommend them whether your project is big or small. Give Mark a call, you’ll be really glad you did.

Mark is very professional and responsive. My home underwent flooding damage from a faulty dishwasher connection, causing fairly extensive damage to the hardwood floor. The rebuild included new sub-floor, hardwood, baseboard, and even patchwork in the downstairs room. There were complications along the way, which took some patience on my end, but overall I'm satisfied with Mark's professionalism and willingness to complete the job to an exceptional standard. I would highly recommend Mark and his team to any homeowner in the area.
