We recently went with this construction company for a bathroom remodel. For those of you who prefer brief reviews I will say we are five weeks into what was supposed to be a two week project. They have repeatedly lied to us about completion dates. They recently started hounding me for payment although the contract specifies final payment upon completion and the project is not completed. Further details below.
Pros: Tile work was done pretty well.
The look of the work that has been completed is nice
They showed up most days on time
Cons: The main contractor is very disorganized. He would not order the required supplies until the day he needed them which resulted in multiple delays.
The main contractor had poor communication with his subcontractors which resulted in days where no one showed up on the job and needed supplies were not available.
When the situation with the rise where he was not able to get the supplies in a timely manner he tried bullying us into changing the original plans.
There were multiple occasions where he lied to us about when things would be completed, when he had ordered things, and what his plans were. We would only find out about these lies when they didn’t happen when he said they would happen.
The project was supposed to take two weeks and we are at the end of week five now. The bathroom is still not usable. There is still sheets of tape up my stairs and across my floor. There are still large piles of trash on my front porch. Yesterday the main contractor started harassing me for the final payment. He has said that he will start charging me interest if I don’t pay now even though the project is not completed. His belief is that since it is almost done we should pay.
