For over 20 years, Monahan Building has been constructing custom homes and providing expert renovations throughout the Main Line and Philadelphia area. Founded in 1990 by Mike J. Monahan, we have established ourselves as premier builders grounded in integrity, quality and service.
We have built some of the Main Line’s most inspirational homes and have made our mark with consistently excellent quality construction. Monahan Building has won the Best of the Main Line for six years in a row! This award stands out to us as a special achievement and we are thrilled to receive acknowledgement from both our community and customers.
We pride ourselves on our service to our customers and our excellent work. Our portfolio of construction projects expands beyond custom homes. While we build additions and manage complete renovations, we also do kitchens, bathrooms and other larger size remodeling projects. When we commit to a customer, we become a partner in the care of their home for years to come.

We signed a contract for 32,600. Now the project is done, they want us to pay 42,700. They never told us about the price hike nor did we sign off on the expenditures. They won't show us any receipts or invoices showing extra money spent and for what. Now they are harassing us for the extra money. In the state of Pennsylvania it is law that they can't charge us more than 10% above the contracted price unless we signed off on it.
If a contractor is going to spend above the contracted amount, they need to document and have it signed off by the homeowner.
