In October, 2021, Vic Armijo was hired to replace the decking of my kitchen sink cabinet due to water damage and install a new toe kick. He told me he could make it look like there was no damage at all. He said he could match the color of the materials to the maple color of my cabinets. He insisted that he be paid in fill up front. Since he was recommended by Rocky Mountain Stone, I agreed. I was horrified when after less than 2 hours, he said he was done. The material he used was white. Instead of putting two pieces of decking together (mitered), he overlapped them. They rested the top piece on top of the edge of the escutcheon/flange so there wasn’t a tight fit. He didn’t build up the base. He just put the new white decking on the collapsed base so the decking wasn’t level. And because he overlapped the two pieces, you couldn’t slide a large or heavy item to the back of the cabinet because it would hit the lip … not that the item would stand up by itself because of the collapsed base. Vic said he had a problem getting the right color material because of the supply chain issues and that I had to wait on the toe kick. I told him I wanted the type of material and color of material that I paid for. He said because of the supply chain issues it would probably be Spring. I called him back in December and he said he was going to try another supplier or go to a lumber store to get a sheet of the material. I asked for half my money back, $375, until he could finish the job. He agreed. However, he never returned any of my calls in Spring of 2022. I wish I could attach the pictures of his work. I could have done better after watching a YouTube video and I am an old, fat female. I finally had another company fix the cabinet. The cabinet guy was here over six hours and made scores of cuts to get the decking built up and fit together. You could not tell there was any damage at all and the color was perfectly matched. It was beautiful. I would love to show you the pictures of the new work and the toe kick. This job cost only $430 vs. Vic’s $775. My new cabinet guy couldn’t believe the shoddy work Vic did. Please beware.
