My husband and I hired this contractor to install a loft in our home as well as to place new flooring through the house, paint bath and kitchen cabinets, new countertops and backsplash in kitchen, new countertops in bathroom. Removing island and place peninsula creating a bigger kitchen. The projects seemed fine at first until I had questions about permits and inspection I was told he would file as having licensing sll would be faster. My backsplash looks terrible I questioned the chipped and cracked tiles I was told it’s because they are cheap I have grout under my microwave tiles are not even huge spaces between the tiles that were overfilled with grout. I gave grout and tiles popping out when this was brought up he laughed the outlets in the kitchen stick out and have have grout in them as well. The cabinets were not properly prepped paint began to chip from day one again I asked when they would be sealed he again laughed and stated they were done lots of area where the paint dripped left on cabinets and areas that were not painted. Again when bringing to his attention he claimed I need to stop touching with my long fake nails. I don’t have long fake nails I found that comment very appalling. Lots of areas where sealant and caulking were not done pencil marks all over flooring. I asked about boot marks on the floor I was again told my husband walked through adhesive and tracked on floor I was shocked as my husband was at work so how could that be? Come to find I contacted the city in regards to inspection for our loft and electrical only to find he never applied despite our quote including these charges and we are now having electrical issues he is not an electrician and yet was messing with our electrical. Again after many discussions about how unhappy we are with quality of work we did ask for refund of cost to paint our kitchen and the cost of backsplash all totaled about 5,000. We were met with a firm no everything looks great in his eyes and he in turn wanted us to sign that we would no longer complain we spent 40,000 to redo our home and it’s very disappointing that it looks like crap. We are now having to get electrical work fixed and find a new tile company to redo the tile backsplash. Not to mention our countertop hangs over so that you can’t push stove in proper again when brought to attention he insisted it was my measurements. I’m not a contractor I’m a dental assistant so why would I measure he declined to fix the hangover unless we signed that we would not complain again we declined to sign anything and it still is the same. We hired him because he had done quite a lot of work within our neighborhood so was highly recommended sadly we were taken advantage of and paid for very poor work I strongly recommend not using his company we will be moving to small claims court.
