    Considered for Multi-Room Remodel

Michael ended up doing precisely the things he promised that he doesn't do as a contractor -- taking on more jobs than he can accommodate at a decent pace, and coming in at a far higher price than what we arrived at in the contract, by way of overages.

Despite his talent and skills as a craftsman, we've also found him to be arrogant in not taking ownership of damage or his failures, leaving things left undone or done incorrectly habitually, failing to plan properly for the needs of our renovation particulars (e.g., not specifying a water heater that matches our large bathtub), and failing to follow instructions, let alone keep instructions in a safe place so that instructions can be followed. He's great at the framing but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to the details, planning, communicating, and managing his crews.

    Living room expansion

Be VERY CAREFUL if you plan to hire Morco Home Improvement for your home project. While I admit Michael is a good craftsman, he is also a very slick, smooth talker, and lies effortlessly. Make sure you do the necessary due diligence and insist on having a contract to protect your interests if you decide to hire him.
I had a contract with Morco Home Improvement to expand my living room, and it involved removing a load-bearing wall, expanding the existing ceiling, and installing new hardwood flooring in the combined space. Michael was responsible for providing labor and materials, and I made sure that I asked if he was comfortable with the terms of the contract, and if he had any amendments before signing. He assured me he was comfortable, and promised he would have everything completed by the project end date noted in the contract. After failing to meet that deadline, he promised to finish by the time I was ready to leave the country on vacation. Suffice it to say that after I returned from vacation my project was still not complete. In addition to time management issues, Michael also breached other stipulations in our contract agreement regarding, for example, getting approvals before proceeding with additional work and change orders, and the dumping of construction debris in my front yard and leaving it there for days.
Michael told me I should use R9 rigid insulation in my new walls and ceiling because he claimed it was more effective and of a higher quality than R13, which was the standard insulation used in my walls. After he stacked my ceiling and walls with R9 insulation, the township’s Building Inspector had him remove some sections and use R13 to “improve airflow”. I also did my due diligence by calling the manufacture of the insulation to find out the efficiency and effectiveness of the different types of insulation. I also went to Home Depot to research prices and speak with a representative. I found out that R9 was much cheaper than R13, yet Michael was billing me more for the change order “upgrade”. Second, he told me that he had to upgrade the recessed ceiling cans for LED lighting from 6” to 5 ½” because the space in my ceiling was “too small”. Again, I did my due diligence by noting the model number of the caps Michael had installed, and went to Home Depot to verify. With the help of a Home Depot associate, who was an electrician, I discovered that the model number described the ceiling caps as 6” units, not the 5 ½” he said he installed. The associate said what Michael told me was B.S.
Moreover, over this past winter, I discovered that I was not getting adequate heat in the living room, and it turned out that his crew had failed to reconnect one of the baseboard heat pipes they had removed to install the flooring. His men also ripped apart the insulation under my crawl space when they were installing the pipes, and failed to re-attach the bats to the sub-flooring. Only a suit in Small Claims Court partially resolved this issue.
    So, BUYER BEWARE!!

    Multi-Room Remodel project

Micky did a lovely job, he texted me photos as the project progressed. he showed up when he said he would and followed through until project was complete. There was a miscommunication at one point but was easily resolved without a problem. I was leery to hire a contractor off a website, but all went well and i would recommend Morco Home Improvement without reservation.

    Verified Hire
    BuildZoom project

We hired Morco Home Improvement to open the floor plan of a single story ranch, remodeling the kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom. The majority of the remodel went smoothly, only with a couple hick-ups dealing with plumbers.

Due to scope creep and our budget limitations, we couldn't get everything we wanted completed. But Morco was willing to work with us to get the majority of the remodel complete. Being fairly handy, we've been finishing up the remainder of the remodel and finishing touches, albeit at a slower pace.

Morco was a pleasure to work with and I would hire them again.

When it was time for us to get our kitchen renovated, we were wary of who to hire because of horror stories we had heard about other contractors. Luckily, we were recommended Mickey and Morco Home Improvement by a friend. From planning to budgeting to the finished product, Morco exceeded all of our expectations. I would highly recommend Morco for all of your future projects!
