Morris General has been around for 40 plus years and its because they are a great construction company. Buildzoom apparently isn't happy because we will not sign up. Morris General goes above and beyond to make there customer happy but as all contractors know you can not make every body happy. No matter what you do. Believe me when I say Morris General tries to make every customer happy. They will stay on the job until the customer is satisfied. Your reviews are from 2015. Give me a break.

    Worst Construction In Memphis

This is by far the worst Construction Company in Memphis. If you want the cheapest, thrown together work, give them a call. We had them do a build out for a brand new The UPS Store in mid-town, and are still finding faults after multiple attempts to let them fix the work. We gave them a very specific contract that laid out everything that was to be done with exact paint numbers and paint types. Instead of using the Sherwin Williams paint that was specified, they used Home Depot paint and then attempted to cover up the Home Depot paint with a single layer of Sherwin Williams, which caused bubbling throughout the store and paint peeling throughout the store. We also had an issue with consistency, The General Contractor, Bob, withdrew our job foreman mid-job to take to another job and left the store under a foreman that was left completely in the dark. They pulled permits for things that weren't needed, and then once something was done he didn't get the proper sign offs. Now three weeks after the construction crew has left our walls are peeling again and we are noticing that there was only one coat of paint applied directly to the drywall, NO PRIMER was used at all. Our walls are still not flush and the floors are not level. This was the absolute worse experience with a construction company I have ever had. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT A CRAPPY JOB DONE. ONCE THEY LEAVE YOU WILL HAVE TO HIRE AN ADDITIONAL CREW TO COME IN AND FIX THEIR WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    STAY AWAY!

Choosing Morris General Construction as the contractor for my home addition has been literally the worst decision I have ever made in my life. The company hires the bottom of the barrel individuals to come work on your home. They don't higher well known licensed sub-contractors. He will sell you a good game in the beginning but after you sign that contract all bets are off. My tiny 400 square foot addition in cooper young was started on October 1st 1 2014 and was contracted to be finished on December 20 2014. It is now almost May 2015 and we are far from finished and much of the work is faulty. I have paid him 91% of the payment after the third installment in January and he stopped work after cashing that check. I should have never given him that check! He has 60,000 dollars of my money and i have a home that is still exposed to the elements and a roof that is leaking. Unfortunately i don't even trust him to work on the house anymore so i had the lawyer send him a cancel of contract. I only write this so that somebody else does not end up in my position. One of the few sub contractors he hired because of code told me that they have stopped doing work for him because they've had over 5 customers come back unhappy and complaining and it makes their company look bad. If you would like to see some of their work feel free to come out and look. My number is 415.568.5094. I've had to hire another contractor to repair Morris General's faulty work and finish the rest of the job. I couldn't be happier with the new hire! I wish I would have gone with them from the beginning!
