  I signed a contract for roof and siding replacement with Mr. Roof in McLean, VA. Amir made errors in the contract which caused delays. Thomas no-showed and no-called for an important appointment with my neighbor and me. Thomas never apologized nor did he reach out to me. The next day, Amir verbally cancelled my contract. I had to make several requests for Amir to abide by the contract requirements and cancel in writing. I requested a phone call from the owner, with no response.

  The following is a warning to homeowners about working with Mo Motahedy, and his company MR. ROOF of McLean, Va.

  After agreeing to a start date Mo Motahedy canceled installation citing bad weather forecasts twice (even though the weather forecasts were favorable), and finally did come on a day with a poor forecast (and it rained that day). Despite promising he could, Mo was unable to match the color of the gutters and only had white available. Upon arriving, Mo Motahedy wanted $800 more for the job because he used an aerial photo from the internet to estimate the size of my roof (rather than coming to the house).
  The shingles installed on the front of the house were not level - obvious enough to be easily seen with the naked eye. When I complained, Mo Motahedy said that my house was not level and I needed to have a carpenter fix my house. I had to climb on the roof to take pictures with a level before he was willing to come out. The problem was poorly corrected in that the shingles were pushed upward to appear level, but created a visible misalignment at the bottom of the roof (they shifted them up exposing a gap at the base)

  A few months later shingles were falling off the roof. The shingles that fell did not have nail holes, and were only held in place with the adhesive that comes one the back of the shingles.

  Mo insisted that nails had been used even though I showed him the intact fallen shingles. Mo returned a second time and put those shingles back into place and assured me they were nailed this time. One year later more shingles are off again.. no nail holes in any of them.

  I have been patient and allowed Mr Roof the opportunity to correct the problems according to the 5 year warranty that came with the roof. Mo Motahedy has stopped responding to my phone calls and texts and is apparently unwilling to stand behind his work despite obvious and repeated workmanship failures. I now have a stack of shingles on the ground and more still on the roof that are sliding out of position.

  I offer this review to other homeowners in hopes you avoid the same situation.
