We had a remodel after a fire. MT Remodeling came highly recommended by our public adjuster and we were overwhelmed so we went with them. Most of their work was acceptable. The communication and project management was lacking. For example, we were not given progress reports and I had to keep asking for a report. There was *no formal sign-off* on their work as a result, we are *still* left with mistakes. I did create a punch-list for them (I had to do it?!?), mostly of obviously missed things. We have things like a rough wainscoting ceiling in our first floor when we asked for bead board. I "verbally approved" it when I was told they would smooth it out. They did not do that and we are stuck with what they put up. Our vinyl flooring in the kitchen is crooked. It doesn't follow the ceiling or the counters. We keep finding problem as we live here again. Today, we identified a kitchen drawer where they drilled the handle in the wrong spot. Instead of getting a new drawer, they filled the holes with off-color spackle and re-drilled it. They had the A/C cranked the whole time they had the house (not just when they were there.) and burned out our A/C motor. They did pay for it.
If you choose MT, be very careful to stay after them at every step. This is not what I would choose again. If I had more time and lot less stress in the situation, I would have done more homework and likely chosen someone else more reputable and closer to home.
