Amazing work
I highly recommend MTZ Pool remodeling. After purchasing a home with a pool that had sit empty for a while, I wanted to bring it back to life without breaking the bank.
After getting many estimates from pool plastering companies, I put my trust in MTZ and I am so happy of my decision.
Andres and Hector and their team did an amazing job. They did the full remodel in just 3 days. They were very clean and organized when working. Never in the process did Hector try to sell me on something I did not need, which had been the case with other vendors I spoke to. Most companies had advised me use the pricey hydro blast method to remove the existing plaster. However, MTZ did not see the need for it in my specific situation and they removed 2 layers of plaster as well as old tiles with a jackhammer. They even fixed the exposed steel rebar at no additional cost.
MTZ is a family run business that cares about a job well done with attention to detail. They deserve more than 5 stars. Seriously

Andres was referred to me by a contractor I have been doing business with for over a decade. The pool pump at a property I own failed. When I first spoke with Andres over the phone, I was very impressed. He seemed very knowledgeable and was super friendly. He gave me a verbal quote of $1,800, which seemed fair, and I agreed to move forward with him. He showed up on the day/time he said he would and replaced my old pump with a new variable speed pump. Part of the deal was that he would take pictures and provide me with all the details required for me to submit a rebate application from LADWP - which was $1,000 -- or more than half of the cost of the project.
As soon as he was finished with the job, I foolishly paid him in full. Almost immediately after the installation, my tenant called to say that she was hearing very loud banging noises from the pool heater and that the water in the spa was emptying out. I immediately called Andres who explained that when the original pump failed, some plastic pieces had entered into the heater causing the banging noises, which later proved to be false - there was no plastic in the heater, and that there were plastic pieces lodged in the check valve that was causing the spa to drain. We arranged for him to come out that next week to take an in depth look at the heater and repair the check valve, and I offered to pay him for his time. In addition, he said that he had taken the old pump and would bring it back to the house. He was NEVER authorized to take the old pump as I needed it for the rebate. He also never provided me with the purchase receipt for the new pump -- which I also needed to file for the rebate.
The long and the short is that he never showed up to finish the job and he NEVER brought back the old pump or receipt. He went MIA for almost a month -- didn't return calls or return texts. When I finally got a hold of him, he was apologetic and said he would come back the following week. I arranged a time when both he and the tenant would be there and he no showed again!
He dodged my calls for another few weeks and when I finally got a hold of him again (via my contractor who was embarrassed for referring him), he played the same charade again. He arranged a day/time to come out and never showed up.
I have never written a negative review on Google. This is my first. Andres is not dependable and furthermore lied to me several times. His work is shoddy. He never brought me my old pump, which he technically stole from my house, and never provided me with a purchase receipt (strange). As a result, I can not file for a rebate and am out an additional $1,000.
Furthermore, I had to pay another pool company, which I highly recommend -- Matthew Stern @ Pool Pros -- to get the pool back in working condition.
DO NOT USE MTZ. Andres is the worst!
