    A/C unit

    PLEASE BEWARE!!

Mullinax Mechanical is the worse of worse. My AC unit went out and American Home Shield assigned me to them. They were able to come out same day which was great and got American Home Shield to replace my A/C unit and my only out of pocket was going to be $255 (part of the freon and an upgrade to my pad).

However, after that they were horrible. The parts were supposed to be to them by June 13, but owner of Mullinax, Jamie was too busy to pick them up because there was a "heat wave going on". I will call the office and his wife (Amanda) will answer and explained she doesn't know the business and it was her first day on the job and he will need to call me back with an update. Jamie never hardly called me back and after a while his voicemail was full. I had to start calling multiple times a day or every other day to get answers. On June 17 his wife was ignoring my calls and actually started to text me instead of making a simple phone call back. She was so unprofessional her only concern was her husband.

Finally, his people came out June 27 and install my unit then unfortunately the unit stop working June 29.I called them June 30 and explained to them what's going on. They told the best they can do is July 11 for someone to come out, which I thought was unreasonable. If they did the job correctly the first time, I wouldn't need anyone again. His wife says I was being rude because I was laying out facts and won't take the July 11 appointment because of someone else's error. She finally got Mullinax on the phone. This "businessman" told me to stop being rude to his wife. He made statement like "If I be a little bit nicer maybe they will try to fit me in." "I'm no one special to get bump up on the schedule." I can go to another company or take the July 11 appointment (I have this conversation record).

I finally hung up and called AHS. My husband actually found the problem later on. There was water coming out of the inside AC unit. Jamie's people forgot to install a part! Once I vacuum up the water; A/C unit worked!! I have another contractor coming out today to fix their mess, which I have to pay another $100 for my co pay but it's worth it not to deal with this sorry company. Then on top of that they were supposed to upgrade my pad and didn't but took my took my money. If your home warranty company assigns you to them, ask them to give you another contractor instead. Don't deal with is company Jamie and Amanda Mullinax are very unprofessional people.

    air handler installation
    $300

This contractor performed two installations for us. The first one was great. He also charged our system for us before the install to help us out because it took over 2 months for our home warranty company to get him the necessary part. The second install was a bad experience. The install was not done correctly and caused water damage to our house. It cost us additional funds to have the install corrected because Mullinax refused to honor his written 30 day warranty (on the company invoice) because we installed a face plate on the thermostat. The current thermostat did not work with the new air handler. The technician did not have a thermostat to install and assisted us in purchasing a new one. Sadly, it was defective. The techs left before we knew whether or not the system proved to be in working order. Mr. Mullnax assisted us in setting up the exchanged thermostat the next morning. The system would not turn on at all. Mr. Mullinax refused to return to our property to investigate the problem based on the fact that we put the face plate on the thermostat his technician wired to our wall. He stated that he wanted more money from us or our home warranty company. He maintained that he runs a reputable business yet claims the thermostat was not "professionally installed." He further stated that he could not guarantee that the wiring done to our air handler or the necessary rewiring done to our compressor was correctly performed. This install cost us more than what we paid him to correct and caused further damage to our house because it was not done correctly. All we heard was how he lost money on this job and how many favors he did for us.
