Scott is the ultimate professional! We hired him to fix and complete two tile projects from a previous unfinished job that had multiple errors. We searched for weeks in the hopes of hiring someone who could repair a previous "job gone bad" only to be turned down over and over again. We were told either the job was too small or that the the errors were beyond repair. Scott not only accepted our project, he performed a miracle! Needless to say, we are completely satisfied with his work and impressed by his knowledge and expertise in many areas of home improvement/remodeling. Scott is courteous and clean. He completed the project in a timely manner, arrived on time everyday, worked a full 8 hours every day without taking a break, not even for lunch! Highly recommend!

My wife and I bought a Log Home in Nevada City, Ca. The Home was bought as a Short Sale. The Log Home needed extensive work. There were many Logs that had Dry Rot and was so bad that you could put your finger through the logs. I was introduced to Scott through my Real Estate agent. After talking with Scott we decided to hire him. I was concerned about all the work and cost for the repairs and replacement of the logs. I was assured that all would work out. At the time I was still Very concerned because I continued to see more and more logs that either had to be repaired or replaced. I thought the amount of money this going to end up costing will be more than if I had bought a home that wasn't on a Short Sale. It wasn't long though before we knew we had made the right decision in hiring Scott. His craftsmen ship and attention to detail made us realize the correct decision was made. Not long after he had started repairing the Logs I began to discuss other areas of the home that needed attention. I was so pleased with his work that I continued to have him work on the Home. He installed Gutters and made special brackets for the Gutters due to the slope of my roof. Repaired some of the siding that was rotten by Dry Rot. Remodeled Two Bathrooms which part of the bathroom was down to the 2x4's and exposed. In one of the Bathrooms he did a complete install of a Shower. We had him put Slate in both of the Bathrooms and turned out Beautiful. Again very satisfied with the Workmanship and really showed how good his craftsmanship and attention to detail is. He also did a lot of other things like hang doors and repair closet folding doors. I also thought the cost for everything done was more than reasonable and fair. With the cost of everything these days it was refreshing to find a Contractor who took pride in not just his work but also how money could be saved. I was always given options to find out the most economical way to proceed with doing the job. This was a relief because you always want options and want to be able to get the most bang for your buck.
In closing I would recommend Scott and will continue to hire him for future jobs. For the Workmanship and the jobs performed he is worth 5 Stars.

I had Murphy Construction build me a custom log home. It turned out absolutely gorgeous. Scott is very professional and worked with me every step of the way to make sure I was happy. He did everything possible to help me save money, which was greatly appreciated. Scott is very creative and a perfectionist. He was very respectful to me and my property. If you want a contractor that will be dependable, reliable, caring and qualified call Scott Murphy.
