I have hired Larry Three different times to build me a new home! He was always prompt and a perfectionist everything I got was Top-of-the-line. He came by the job three or four times a day every day. I had a home built in Dallas years ago never saw my contractor. I would highly recommend Larry Nance with Nance building construction to build my fourth home But I love this one so I'm staying in it! Thanks Larry for all your hard work on my beautiful home!

1/31/2012 I have hired a carpenter to address the problem of the wood warping around the windows the Larry Nance's crew installed 3 years ago. The wood used was for INTERIOR and that is why it has rotted and pulled away from window casing. In addition the casing was installed incorrectly- it was flush with windows instead of overlapping 1/2". Can't help but wonder what else was done incorrectly?

My husband and I hired Larry Nance Construction to remodel our home in Hideaway, Texas. The project- remove existing fireplace, raise ceiling in living room and master bedroom. Gut and construct a larger master bath. Larry had good design ideas and was present early in the project- the demo went well and the framing crew did a good job. The new fireplace that was installed is a prefab- and while I expected a builder's quality- this is so cheesy I would not feel comfortable actually using. Larry sent his demo guy to do some finish work- that didn't work well. Larry didn't seem to have anyone on his crew trained for finish work. I told Larry the sink in the master was set too close to the back- so there is not enough room to lift lever to keep water in sink. Larry refused to reset the sink so this could be corrected. Some months later water kept coming in under the outer wall which used to be a screened in porch. I got on the internet and did some research on how to properly finish so that water would run away from the house. Call Larry and explained my findings telling him I felt it was never properly finished. He didn't agree and wouldn't fix without an additional charge.

Overall not a very good experience. Let me start by saying I have an older home and I am sure it had many challenges. I hired Larry to remodel an open concept kitchen dining area. At this time there are still so many things I do not feel we’re installed properly. My floor is buckling and Larry assured me it would be fixed. Many cabinet door, drawer issues, they don’t line up or close correctly. The window trim was all eaten up on the edges but installed and painted anyway. Vent hood over stove was never installed. Larry will not return my calls and has deleted my Facebook request for him to contact me. My brand new ceiling fan was taken down and taken away. I must add the price of the fan was deducted. I expressly stated it was new and not to be replaced. I never actually picked my cabinets out, just conveyed what I did not like on the choices presented. Needless to say when they arrived I was very shocked and have NEVER seen cabinets like the ones I have. The dishwasher placement is still wrong. You have to open the dishwasher to get the drawer next to the sink to open. This problem was discussed, however to fix this problem would have been another trip to the cabinet distributor to exchange for a smaller unit, the exchange was not made. In fact I halted the project for a couple of weeks over the cabinet experience. I should have ended it there but I did not. A regular plug was put on a 220 plug and no one was really sure why it didn’t work. Now it has a cover plate over it. When the granite people came to install my sink they were appalled at the lack of bracing in my cabinet for the heavy farmhouse sink. I had also had several conversations with Larry on this subject. Thankfully the granite crew reinforced the sink cabinet to withstand the weight.
Everything was done very fast and emphasis was put on payments at the end of every week. I should not have put so much money into the project before more of the work was done. I feel Larry is not experienced enough and in a little over his head. I am single and had no one there to say..”This is not right.” I feel there are many “ not rights” in my renovation. I could have listed many more. I also feel my outcome was excessiveLy overpriced for the quality work that was done. I would not hire Larry again, and I am sorry I hired him in the first place. This renovation has been a heartbreaking disappointment. If you have someone to double check what is happening maybe take a risk. I did rbi k a long time about posting this. The lady with the sink in the previous review helped me decide.
