Jimmy dean took a deposit - $1000 - partially completed a sight plan, and then requested to be paid in full before he would show us the completed plans. We paid. He did not complete the plans. We requested a refund - he refused. FRAUD

Jimmy Dean represented himself as a Structural Engineer to me and Took $2800 from me so he could complete professional engineer certified drawings. After many contacts he sent me a plan for my renovation that had many many errors and omissions and at best was 30 minutes of work, all with an Engineer Stamp by Brenton D. Daily, someone who lives in Lake Mary, Fl. I am filing a complaint, civil suit, and I wonder about calling police like another person did, as this is such a scam.

I gave Jimmy Dean a deposit of $1750.00 on July 8, 2024 for drawings that were to be delivered no later than July 22nd. However, when nothing was delivered other than excuses, I terminated the Agreement for non-performance and in response Mr. Dean sent me an invoice stating “ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON_REFUNDABLE”. Mr. Dean ARBITRARILY and UNILATERALLY kept my deposit.

I contacted the police and pressed charges. Mr. Dean told the Officer that he would pay me back but wanted to do it in installments because he said he didn’t have the money. The Officer asked if I would agree to that and I unfortunately did.

Mr. Dean then made a single payment and stopped responding to me. The police then dropped the charges stating that because he made a payment it was no longer criminal and I would have to take it to civil court. So, while I’m going through that process, I am also taking it to the Court of Public opinion so no one else has to get to know the Jimmy Dean that I know.

Dean has worked under at least 5 different company names that I have found, none of them are active according to Sunbiz. Mr. Dean is not licensed to work in Florida according to the DBPR and he has 6 documented complaints listed on the website. And, a simple Google search will bring up a whole host of complains all of the same nature.

I contracted with Jimmy Dean in March of 2021. He cashed my deposit check 4/5/21 and I have had nothing but excuses. I have been very willing to deal with his family's covid issues, and I told him that I was more than willing to wait for his recovery and he will not even return my calls now. I gave him $1500 in good faith for design plans for my bedroom expansion. He said his fee was $3000 and it would be done in just a few months. It is now December and I have nothing. He will not answer my calls or my husband's. Very disappointing. I got his name from Titan Builders who recommended him. What a mistake.

Jimmy Dean, through Naples Custom Design & Build Inc, are very good at talking and lay out all sort of stories about experience and knowledge. He quickly get your comfortable with his lies about his company and reputation. Thereby catching your attention and trust. But make no mistake. Once he get your money he is pushing for quick solution making easy money. There are no customer service or flexibility, nor understanding about working together for optimum solutions and best plans before sealing the drawings. So my friends! Feel free to refer to my experiences but be aware of his lying. This man can not be trusted no matter what his words are.
